Who was HavinMotion? DMV Rapper reportedly dies aged 22

HavinMotion was a rapper from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) underground scene, with his residence being in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Previously, the rapper had specifically stated that he was from Bryans Road. The rapper’s real name was Dwayne Omar Isaacs, Jr.

HavinMotion started out on YouTube and on the underground scene. The oldest track on his YouTube channel Missing Body, was released on December 24, 2022.

After that, he continued releasing other tracks, with other major tracks including Druggin N’ Thuggin, as well as In That Car and more. The rapper released his debut mixtape, Motion, in February 2024. The mixtape was received well on release, with publications such as The FADER highlighting it in a positive light.

After his debut release, he went on to release the projects Trappin in Beverly, SORRY MA, Romantic Trapper, F*ck You Pay Me, Rich Junkie, and finally in 2026, How Life Been.

The rapper’s YouTube channel has more than 14.5k subscribers, while his X page, HavinMotion, has 2,186 followers. The rapper has 113,062 monthly listeners on Spotify, and his most popular track on said streaming platform is I Just Want U.

Now there have been reports of HavinMotion passing away. The reports first started emerging online on April 24, 2026, with netizens taking to social media to post about his death and mourn him. Subsequently, media publications started reporting on it.

On the same day, the Metropolitan Police Department released a statement on its official website, saying that one Dwayne Isaacs had passed away in a shooting on Wheeler Road, Southeast, the day before, on April 23, 2026:

“On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to the 3300 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.”

The police statement continued:

“DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, and despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Dwayne Isaacs, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.”


More on the Metropolitan Police Department report on HavinMotion’s reported death

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of $25,000 to anyone who may have information and should reach out to the police call line or text line:

“Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.”

As per Complex, the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that the cause of death of the rapper was gunshot wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

HavinMotion is currently being mourned by his fans online, as well as by fellow artists such as Redveil, who is a singer-songwriter from Maryland. There have not been any statements from his family as of the writing of this article.
