New lawsuit adds to Diddy’s mounting legal troubles
Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence, is facing a new lawsuit filed by a former child actor who alleges the music mogul sexually assaulted him when he was a minor nearly two decades ago. The lawsuit was filed in a Los Angeles court on June 8 and adds to a list of more than 100 civil suits already pending against Combs.
The plaintiff, identified only as John Doe, alleges the incident occurred in 2007 at what he understood to be a networking event in the Hollywood Hills. At the time, Doe was working as a child actor and accepted what appeared to be a professional invitation to speak privately with Combs about potential career opportunities.
What the lawsuit alleges
According to court documents obtained by multiple outlets, Combs brought Doe to a back area of the venue, where he allegedly gave the minor alcohol before initiating physical contact. The documents allege Combs began touching and rubbing Doe despite the minor expressing that he was uncomfortable. Combs allegedly went on to perform oral sex on Doe while simultaneously touching himself. Afterward, Combs reportedly told the minor he would consider him for a future project.
In addition to Combs, the lawsuit names the talent agents who represented Doe as a child as defendants. The filing alleges they were negligent in placing him in situations where he could encounter powerful adult industry figures without adequate protection. The lawsuit further alleges the agents had knowledge of Combs’ alleged prior predatory behavior and failed to arrange for a chaperone or take any preventive action to protect their minor client.
Doe is suing for unspecified damages and is also seeking costs, fees and a jury trial. The charges listed include childhood sexual assault, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent supervision of a minor and false imprisonment.
Combs’ legal history
The new filing arrives as Combs remains incarcerated at Fort Dix Federal Prison in New Jersey with an expected release date of February 2028. He was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a federal sex trafficking trial in New York. His legal troubles accelerated significantly after November 2023, when his former girlfriend Cassandra Ventura filed a civil lawsuit alleging rape, trafficking and years of physical and mental abuse during their relationship. That suit was settled the day after it was filed, but it triggered a flood of similar accusations and a federal investigation that eventually led to his criminal conviction. Combs has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
A new case involving Combs is also currently under review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, a spokesperson confirmed in early June.
Combs’ representative responds
A representative for Combs issued a statement calling the new lawsuit’s allegations false and dismissing the plaintiff as someone attempting to benefit financially from the volume of lawsuits filed against Combs. The statement maintained that Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone, including a child, and that the allegations would be disproved.
