Candace Owens has often questioned Erika Kirk’s appointment as TPUSA’s CEO following Charlie Kirk’s death in September last year. Recently, Owens asked for the video of Charlie Kirk naming Erika Kirk as his successor after TPUSA played the audio clip at the AmFest event.
On May 12, Candace Owens once again urged TPUSA to release the video of Charlie and reported that Aspen donors called Charlie’s audio clip fake.
Charlie Kirk allegedly named Erika as the leader of TPUSA after him at his event in Aspen. Candace Owens stated that donors present at the Aspen event have claimed that the audio shared by TPUSA is fake. She also added that it never happened. The political commentator said:
“I’m keeping the count here on our desk 39 long days since we reported that donors who were present in Aspen assert that the audio which was shared by Turning Point USA of Charlie saying I appoint my wife to run Turning Point USA if something happens to me she’ll do a great job was faked. This is what they are saying. I’m reporting that they they are saying that that was faked. It never happened.”
Owens also stated that Charlie never appointed Erika as his successor, so Turning Point USA declined to respond to the request for the video clip’s release. Candace Owens said:
“Charlie never said that. And Turning Point for some reason is refusing to drop the video of that moment saying this of Charlie saying this. They’re also refusing to even respond authoritatively. They could simply respond and assert that it absolutely was not faked and that the donors are lying. Their donors are lying. Big donors are lying. That feels a little bit suspicious to me.”
Owens added that the audio clip sounded AI to her.
“And I got to tell you, the more I listen to it, the more Al it sounds to me.”
Candace Owens said Charlie’s audio clip appeared remarkably formal
The former Daily Wire host presented the clip from TPUSA AmFest with Charlie’s audio. In the audio, Charlie Kirk allegedly said:
“If something happens to me, Erica would do a great job. I appoint my wife to run Turning Point USA.”
Candace Owens raised eyebrows on the flow of the audio. She said that the clip sounded ‘remarkably’ formal. Further, the political commentator asked if TPUSA’s donors are lying about Kirk’s statement.
“It just doesn’t flow when you hear it. And it’s also remarkably formal. I appoint my wife if anything should happen to me. It’s like exactly the sentence that he needed to say, he said. Not just like, “Oh, Erica can do it.” Yeah. I mean, she’d be great at that. Whatever. Hopefully, we don’t have to think about that question until down the line. But it lappoint my wife to run Turning Point USA in the event that anything happens to me. We would like a response on this. Are the donors lying?”
Owens further mentioned how Erika Kirk earlier talked about Charlie Kirk’s video during her interview with Megyn Kelly.
“Erika herself told Megan Kelly an emotional story about what she felt like watching that video for the first time. The video of Charlie choosing her”
She continued:
“Please just drop the video. It’s all we ask. And we’re asking politely, by the way.”
Candace Owens has been suspicious of Erika and TPUSA since Charlie’s murder.
