Alicia Brown cited false narratives and promised more to come as the July 13 hearing approaches.
Alicia Brown addressed the public Today for the first time since her husband, radio personality Big Tigger, was arrested last week on battery and cruelty to children charges, posting a message to her Instagram Story that acknowledged the difficulty of the past several weeks while signaling she intends to say more through the appropriate channels and with her legal team guiding the timing.
Brown’s statement came hours after a Fulton County judge granted her a temporary protective order against her husband, requiring him to remain at least 200 yards from both her and their children, prohibiting any contact, and granting her temporary custody of their minor children and exclusive use of the family home. A hearing in the case is scheduled for July 13.
What Brown said and what she did not
In her post, Brown described the past few weeks as deeply difficult, expressing regret that things had reached this point for everyone involved. She said she was troubled by the volume of false narratives and attacks circulating publicly and took personal responsibility for having shared a video showing her injuries, a decision she acknowledged had consequences. She also said a lack of accountability and acknowledgment had been weighing on her, and that she intended to address those issues once she identified the right platform to do so.
She did not name her husband directly in the post and asked for patience while she worked through the process with her legal team.
What the court filing says
According to reporting from TMZ, Brown’s petition for the protective order cited the May incident that preceded Tigger’s arrest and provided additional detail about what she alleged occurred. Brown claimed Tigger pushed her during a confrontation, causing her to strike her head against a door. She also alleged that he pressured her to stay silent about the incident afterward, warning her that speaking out would cost her everything.
The petition further alleged that Tigger cut off her access to the home’s security cameras and gate controls. The judge accepted the petition and granted the temporary order, which takes effect immediately while the case moves toward the July hearing.
Background on the case
The timeline of the situation stretches back to May, when Brown shared footage on social media showing injuries to her face. The post, which she later deleted, prompted widespread attention and led to Tigger being named a suspect in an assault investigation. Brown subsequently stated that she had never described her husband as an abuser, a clarification that left the public uncertain about the nature of the allegations.
The situation was further complicated by Brown’s claim that Tigger had been exchanging text messages with his radio co-host, Francesca Amiker. Amiker denied any impropriety. According to TMZ’s earlier reporting, the confrontation in May began when Brown discovered those messages and attempted to read them on Tigger’s phone, at which point he began recording her and a struggle over the phone followed.
Tigger was taken into custody on June 20. His charges, battery and cruelty to children, relate to the May incident. Their son was reportedly present in the home during the altercation, though he does not appear to have been physically harmed.
Tigger’s position
Tigger, whose legal name is Darian Morgan, issued a statement through Instagram on Wednesday denying all charges and describing himself as someone who has spent more than 30 years building a life around relationships and community. He said he has full confidence in the legal process and that he is cooperating with authorities. He said the truth will emerge through that process and expressed gratitude for the support his family has received.
His statement did not address the specifics of the allegations. The July 13 hearing will be the next significant development in the case.
