Yograj Singh Attacks Cricketers’ Wives Over Their Early Retirement
In a recent conversation with InsideSport, Yograj Singh claimed that family pressure, especially from wives, often pushes talented cricketers to retire before their time. He said that once players get married and have kids, their focus shifts away from the game. According to him, wives start advising their husbands to settle down, take care of the family, and leave the demanding world of professional cricket behind. He firmly believes women should stay out of such career decisions and not stand in the way of a player’s full potential.
He also said that age is not a big problem in cricket and a player can keep performing well for a very long time if he has the hunger and fitness. The former cricketer gave his own example of running a gym where he trains senior citizens to stay fit. In his opinion, people in India worry too much about getting old after 40.
He spoke strongly about stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Yograj Singh called them young and advised them not to think about retirement. He said they should keep scoring runs and prove they are still the best. Even at 50, if they are scoring big, no one should leave them out of the team.
Yograj Singh also praised MS Dhoni. He said Dhoni is still very fit and can easily play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL for the next ten years. He asked why anyone would tell such a dedicated player to retire.
