In of the latest clips, Darryl is seen being interviewed wearing Argentina’s jersey and with a pretty straight face, he roasts himself while confusing Lionel Messi for Cristiano Ronaldo. His sarcastically funny reply to the guess-who question “they call him the GOAT” has become the talk of the town with teams like Argentina and Portugal making it to the next round of World Cup 2026.

Who is Darryl Vega and why is he going viral?
Darry Vega (aka Akar Luid Bajabia, his birth name), known for his recent FIFA World Cup trivia, is a digital-creator and YouTuber of Nigerian origin. Born in Lagos, Vega has spent a majority of his childhood in the United States, growing up in Atlanta.
Over the recent years, his comic recreations of the African culture, videos and gags have helped him gather a huge audience on YouTube. Recently, Darryl released a number of FIFA World Cup gags online where he is seen roasting himself with style.
The recent clip where he fails to recognize and gets confused about Leo Messi’s identity is already skyrocketing the internet. The interviewer is seen asking while apparently showing a picture of the Argentine captain:
“They call him the G.O.A.T?”
To this, Darryl replies:
“But what team does he play for?”
The peak of the hilarious conversation reaches when the person asking the questions says:
“You have his jersey on.”
Right after this, the interview takes an unexpected turn when Darryl mentions that he thought it was Crisitano Ronaldo and further tests the patience of viewers with his straight funny face asking:
“Who is this?’
Following the obvious answer to the quuestion, Vega becomes the biggest point of troll where he keeps up his act while leaving the audience’s belly aching with all the laughter. Another clip also blew the roofs of social media earlier where Darryl is seen jokingly talking about NBA star LeBron James winning the World Cup. To quote his words following the statement:
“Anybody who wants to win should win because life is all about winning.”
