Airrack nearly landed in hot water this week after he launched a massive prank at Universal Studios.
The YouTuber, who is one of the biggest pranksters on the platform, took to Universal Studios to prank the public. In videos circulating online, he can be seen heading to the washroom to don a latex mask of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
Airrack, who has over 17 million subscribers on YouTube alone, then walked around the studio’s CityWalk. Excited fans stopped him as he walked into Ben and Jerry’s, though things quickly took a sharp turn.
Security was called as the crowd went berserk, offering to flank the YouTuber. After he took refuge in a Starbucks outlet, security asked him to exit the premises. However, he ignored them.
Airrack’s recent prank explored:
In videos circulating on X, the YouTuber explained:
“With security threatening to call the cops, we were forced to leave. It unfortunately worked so well that we never made it into the park.”
He also pulled the same stunt at a mall, though a few people at the second location did a double-take to question if it was really the footballer. However, some kids were visibly excited as they shouted “Ronaldo.”
“I heard its Airrack, one passerby shouted. “You don’t know who Airrack is? Look him up on YouTube.”
Over the years, the creator has become renowned for his elaborate prank videos. However, some of them have sparked major backlash online. He previously pulled a prank on Twitch streamers Maya and FaZe Adapt, where he hired several actors to arrest the streamers while on their live broadcast.
In clips that went viral, the fake cops can be seen leading the two streamers away before the YouTuber showed up to clear the air.
“Hey, if you’re out there and you’re a live streamer, you’re not safe, bro. I’m coming for everyone,” Airrack said at the time.
Maya and Adapt then returned to the stream, only for the former to reveal that she knew about the prank beforehand. However, she admitted, she didn’t know “it was going to be so real,” adding that it was “so scary” for her as Adapt was “tripping out.”
“I knew that was going to happen and I knew I had to do a good job, but | didn’t want to do too good of a job because I knew you guys would feel really bad for me,” she added, apologizing to viewers.
The clip quickly went viral as scores online felt like the prank was insensitive, and that it took serious matters too lightly. The YouTuber never acknowledged the backlash.
