Turn of the Tide ends Season 3, with the show still feeling like it is a bit unfinished, but unfortunately, this is the last that we will be seeing of Eduardo.
The Netflix show will not be moving forward with a Season 4, and according to the creators, Season 3 was always meant to be the final run.
However, with the way Season 3 comes to an end, it’s not wrong if you’d think that there might be more story left to tell. According to the creators, the ending for Season 3 was pretty much intentional.
What happened in Turn of the Tide Season 3 finale?
In Season 3 of Turn of the Tide, Eduardo has returned after 3 years, and he understands that Rabo de Peixe has changed.

There’s power and politics that have all taken over the island. Which only means that things are not looking so good. Because of this, Eduardo decides to start the Night Vigilantes.
At first, they are all standing up to all of the corruption that has been happening, but the more influence that they start to receive, suddenly, they are not that different from the people they’re fighting against.
In the Season 3 finale of Turn of the Tide, Eduardo can finally bring Moniz’s actual truth out into the public. At the same time, the island has a volcanic eruption, which allows the Night Vigilantes to find an escape.
Then there’s Paula, whose story ends tragically after she has been tracking down leads for her daughter (who has unfortunately been murdered).
By the end, even though the story still feels like it is a bit unfinished, there are characters who either get their fall or characters who simply walk away. There is also no cliffhanger, and Season 3 comes to an end with the group reflecting on what things could’ve been like if they weren’t involved in all of this mess.
Why has Turn of the Tide Season 4 not been renewed on Netflix?
Season 3 of the series was always supposed to be where Turn of the Tide would come to an end.
The creators had already thought of this as they were working on Season 2, as both Season 2 and 3 were filmed one after the other, and the creators came to the conclusion that the story was meant to end with a third and final season.

Netflix also has not renewed the show, and they never will.
Even though by the end of Season 3, Moniz is still alive (which is an arc that could have been explored if Season 4 were to happen), Eduardo and his friends do escape at the end of Season 3, and bringing them back into the world of crime would perhaps feel a little bit forced.
Could a Season 4 happen in theory? Well, like I said, yes, it does have the potential to. It would either need to focus on their lives after everything has happened, it could look at Moniz and/or Cristina Brum, or it could also introduce a new conflict.
But alas, that won’t be happening.
Turn of the Tide on Netflix will not be renewed for a Season 4, and this is the final decision that has been made by the creators.
It indeed might feel a little bit too abrupt for fans who would have wanted the story to be explored a little bit more. However, you can always re-watch the show on Netflix if you ever miss these characters.
