Will there be a The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3? Future possibilities explored

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3 hasn’t been announced yet, but Amane and Mahiru’s story is far from over. However, the story of Amane and Mahiru is far from over. Season 2 began airing on April 3, 2026, and continued directly from the heartbreaking end of Season 1. The same animation studio (Project No.9) is on board, and the second season is available to stream from Crunchyroll every Friday. There are also 12 light novels available (with more on the way), so there are plenty of episodes left to adapt.

As of June 2026, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3 has not been officially confirmed. No announcement has been made, and its current status remains to be determined. That said, the franchise’s strong commercial track record and abundant source material make a third season a realistic possibility worth examining.

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is a light novel series by Saekisan; the illustrations were created by Hanekoto. The series started as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2018, was picked up by SB Creative for the GA Bunko publication/edition in June 2019, and Yen Press acquired the licensing rights to English in North America.

Amane Fujimiya is a typical recluse who lives in an apartment by himself and shares an apartment building with his extremely attractive classmate, Mahiru Shiina (the most popular girl at school), who lives next door. Amane and Mahiru met on a rainy day (which led to an awkward moment), but as they continued having regular cooking and cleaning interactions, the two developed a deeper relationship than just friendship.

The first season adapted the first four volumes and totalled twelve episodes. Since the second season began at the fifth volume, it features Amane and Mahiru’s early days together, which are filled with an impressive number of awkward (but cute) moments, and will continue through seven additional volumes, with the focus being on Amane and Mahiru’s relationship during “Summer Vacation” and their social lives. Season 2 also covers twelve episodes in length.

This is where the case for The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3 becomes particularly compelling. As of 2026, the light novel has 11 volumes published in Japan and English via Yen Press. In addition to these, the author Saekisan has stated that she does not plan to complete the ongoing story, and there are currently no plans for either.

Also of note is that in December 2023, a spin-off manga titled After the Rain will be published based on the short story from Volume 5.5 of the main series.

Final Thoughts

If renewed, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3 could adapt volumes 9-11 of the light novel. Depending on new releases, other volumes may be adapted as well. The anime continues to release multiple volumes in one season at a faster rate than typical romance-based anime.

The light novel series has multiple volumes waiting to be adapted into an anime, and the series has sold very well consistently. The romance anime genre continues to thrive globally, which should support the opportunity for Season 3 to be produced and made available to viewers in the future. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 3 may not be here yet, but all the right ingredients are in place.
