An intense and thrilling ride of complexities can be seen in the first season of Nemesis. Within just the eight episodes, the storyline of Nemesis, especially the dynamic between the characters trying to navigate through the crime and investigation, makes this series worth watching.
All eight episodes are already out and are available for streaming on the global streaming giant, Netflix. However, the ending of the first season makes us wonder if we will be able to see more of the intense storyline of the series.
Will Nemesis Season 2 happen? Possibilities explored
There is no official news about the renewal of Nemesis for its second season; however, there is also no news about the cancellation of the show. Hence, there is a possibility that the series will continue with a second season. Courtney A. Kemp, in a recent interview, opened up about the possibilities of a second season of Nemesis, noting that she has plans for the second season of the series. She also added that they “are working on it”.
Right after the announcement of the first season, the anticipation for the series rose exponentially, as Courtney A. Kemp is known for bringing in intriguing storylines. Besides this series, some of Courtney A. Kemo’s other notable projects that can also be added to your watchlist are Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Beauty and the Beast, Power Book IV: Force, The Good Wife, My Own Worst Enemy, etc.
A distinct factor that makes Nemesis such a distinct series is the approach of the storyline. The sharp intellect is depicted by the characters, especially Detective Isaiah Stiles’s obsession with Coltrane Wilder. Isaiah is eager to stop Coltrane. The aspect of Isaiah’s past and its influence on his life is depicted in a nuanced manner in the series.
Matthew Law does an impeccable job of bringing life to Isaiah Stiles’ characters in the series. On the other hand, Y’lan Noel’s performance brings life to the manner in which Coltrane navigates through the world of crime, trying to make everyone believe in his actions.
The manner in which Isaiah tries to catch Coltrane, which eventually leads him to get completely destroyed by the end of the first season of Nemesis, leaves an impact. He gets completely engrossed in his goals. It not only affects his professional life but also casts a shadow on his personal life, as his relationship with his son and his wife is negatively impacted.
Coltrane’s situation also takes a turn by the end of the first season of Nemesis. From the beginning of the series, it was depicted that Coltrane chose to curate his public image. However, in the end, his meticulous plan to curate his public image is destroyed completely.
His true nature comes to the public’s eye. Matthew Law, while discussing how Coltrane and Isaiah might navigate in the second season, notes that he wants them to “take everything up to the next level”. He also wants to “stay ready” so they do not have to “get ready” if the next season of Nemesis happens.
At the end of the first season of the series, both Coltrane and Isaiah are able to make it out alive. Though the stakes were quite high at the moment when Isaiah had to choose between catching Coltraine and saving his son.
He chose to save his son, which eventually caused Coltrane to escape. The storyline of the second season, if it happens, can shed light on this new aspect of Isaiah and Coltrane’s lives, as both of them are in complicated situations in their lives. Isaiah’s relationship with Candace has shattered.
