On April 6, 2026, rapper Lil Tjay was arrested in Florida on April 6, 2026, after an incident outside a casino that also resulted in Offset being shot and admitted to the hospital. The events, which happened in a short span of time at the same place, quickly took the internet by storm. Officials have now released details surrounding the situation.
According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records, Lil Tjay was arrested on Monday night and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray, a charge usually connected to participation in a public altercation or fight. According to reports, the incident occurred near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s valet area in Hollywood, Florida.
The rapper was involved in an altercation before the shooting occurred at the venue, according to sources; however, authorities have not provided a detailed account of the altercation. After that, he was detained on a $500 bond and placed into Broward County Jail, where his mugshot was taken.
Authorities have not confirmed if other people engaged in the altercation will be charged, and there are still a few details regarding what caused the altercation.
What happened to Offset in Florida?
That very same evening, Offset was shot outside the casino in what authorities described as an isolated incident. Law enforcement and emergency services responded quickly after the incident in the valet area at around 7 p.m.
The rapper’s representative verified the incident and gave an update on his health, saying that Offset is now “stable” and is “being closely monitored”:
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Subsequently, police verified that the injuries were not life-threatening and that the situation was promptly resolved. Offset was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is now “being closely monitored.”
According to the authorities, two individuals have been detained and are part of the ongoing investigation. Their identities have not been made public. Casino activities quickly resumed after the incident. The authorities issued a statement:
“We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.”
The representative added:
“Seminole Police were on site immediately and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”
Is Lil Tjay connected to Offset’s shooting
Lil Tjay’s legal team has vehemently denied involvement in the shooting, despite the timing and proximity of the two incidents. In a statement responding to the rumors, his lawyer, Dawn Florio, emphasized that the rapper has not been charged with any offenses involving firearms:
“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumours that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos.”
She added:
“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumours.”
Tjay’s arrest has also led to renewed attention to the tensions the two shared. According to reports from 2025, Lil Tjay publicly claimed that Offset owed him $10,000 and that the rapper from Atlanta had a gambling issue. Since then, nothing has happened between the two to further escalate the matter.
Lil Tjay was present during an altercation before the shooting, which prompted the officials to arrest him. However, no evidence connects him to the shooting.
As of now, authorities continue to investigate the shooting that took place as well as identify those responsible. Offset’s team has confirmed that the rapper is doing much better and is expected to recover. Meanwhile, Lil Tjay only faces a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.
