Popular streamer Asmongold was reportedly banned from Twitch for about one week on his main channel, zackrawrr. The ban started on April 6 and he is expected to be back by April 13.
A report by Dexerto indicated that the streaming platform imposed the ban for violating its Community Guidelines, specifically for hateful content. Asmon, whose real name is Zachariah Hoyt, confirmed the news on his official X account that he has been banned for a week.
His X post read:
“Banned for an entire week because I said I don’t give a f*** about the opinions of illiterate third worlders. Would someone be banned for saying they don’t care about what an American’s opinion is on the Middle East? Of course not Blatant double standard, I didn’t break ToS.”
Reports stated that Twitch hasn’t disclosed the exact reason behind the YouTuber’s suspension but he believes it is what took his channel down.

Understanding Asmongold’s Twitch ban controversy
Asmongold was recently banned from Twitch after he reportedly made comments saying he “doesn’t give a f*** about the opinions of illiterate third worlders,” which Twitch deemed a violation of their term.
According to Twitch’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, “harassing, threatening, abusive, inflammatory, or otherwise objectionable” content falls under Prohibited Conduct on the platform. A note on the platform’s website reads:
“Any use of the Twitch Services in violation of the foregoing violates these Terms of Service and may result in, among other things, termination or suspension of your rights to use the Twitch Services.”
The 34 year old content creator’s comments sparked debate among the netizens. Some users on Reddit and X called his remarks xenophobic. They suggested the ban should have been longer labelling it as racist.
But a majority of his audience viewed it as a blunt opinion rather than a slur or threat. They highlighted what they see as Twitch double standards, harsher treatment for Asmon in comparison to extreme rhetoric from other streamers like Hasan Piker.
Someone wrote on X:
“Finally. About time. Hopefully this time he stays banned.”
Another added:
“Wow that’s wild. They don’t even understand their own Idiocracy. Hasan needs to get banned WAY before you are even considered. I’m guess it’s because you don’t make them money, just cost them money, GG King.”
Asmongold has been banned from Twitch multiple times in the past. In October 2024, his active channel, zackrawrr was banned for 14 days. The reason was a controversial rant about Palestinians and Muslims during a live stream.
He referred to Palestinians as “terrible people” and an “inferior culture,” while discussing the ongoing conflict in Gaza. In 2022, he received a 24 hour ban on his zackrawrr channel for using racist language.
Born in April 1990, Asmongold is a popular content creator and a political commentator. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the World of Warcraft (WoW) and Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) community.
He began streaming World of Warcraft gameplay, guides and reactions in 2014 and has since gained attention for his content. He has streamed games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Elden Ring, Lost Ark, and Final Fantasy XIV.
Asmongold streams daily on platforms like Kick and Twitch and has primarily two main Twitch channels. He has stated that he has no plans to abandon Twitch entirely. His main Twitch channel is asmongold which has more than 3 million followers. Reportedly, the channel remains inactive since 2023 as he found it too stressful.
His currently active Twitch channel is zackrawrr which he launched around late July 2022. He began streaming on it regularly after July 2022, following a break from his original asmongold channel. He also has a third Twitch channel, asmongold247, dedicated to VOD reruns and clips.
