John Travolta, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor best known for his performances in Grease and Pulp Fiction, is making waves on social media for his new look. The actor and lifelong aviation fanatic shared an exciting social media post, where he is seen piloting his own plane with daughter Ella to attend the 2026 Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of his directorial debut, Propeller One-Way Night Coach.
However, it’s John Travolta’s new look that caught everybody’s attention. In the video, the Saturday Night Fever star donned a blue velvet jacket and a striking blue beret, likely to mark his debut as a director and to blend in with the French crowd. However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Travolta’s new look is quite similar to actor Ed Harris’ director character Christof from The Truman Show.
It looks like John Travolta is experimenting with the beret style as he changed into a white beret at the red carpet. The actor looked dapper in a black three-piece suit with a white shirt, white tie, and sunglasses, which completed the ensemble.

Fans compare John Travolta’s new look to Ed Harris’ character from The Truman Show
Soon after John Travolta shared his new look in a social media post, fans began comparing him to Ed Harris’ director character from The Truman Show. Travolta shared his piloting experience with fans as:
“Today I piloted my plane at the Cannes Film Festival. We’re going for the premiere of Propeller One-Way Night Coach. Ella and I are really excited about this. So we’ll see you there.”
The actor even updated his fans that they landed safely at the Festival. As the actor enjoyed the premiere of his film at Cannes, fans were having a field day with his new look.
Soon after John Travolta debuted his new look, fans flocked to social media and compared it to Ed Harris’ famous character. Jokingly, an X user wrote:

Although the excitement surrounding John Travolta’s directorial feature film Propeller One-Way Night Coach is very much real, the actor discovered yet another way to steal the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival. Starring Clark Shotwell, Propeller One-Way Night Coach is based on Travolta’s first experience on an airplane as a child. The movie follows Shotwell as a young child on a cross-country flight from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles in 1962 with his mother.
