Everything seems to be going wrong with General Hospital’s car crash plot, a story not quite hitting the mark with fans for multiple reasons. And one of those big reasons? Curtis Ashford.
Jordan and Curtis made their own mess
Sometimes it feels like GH likes to introduce stories meant to tug at the heartstrings and garner sympathy for characters that just fall flat due to both character attitudes and plot points.
In the summer of 2024, we all saw Kristina (Kate Mansi) trip over a duffel bag and fall out the window and into the pool while nine months pregnant. We knew full well that Ava (Maura West) did not push her; therefore, she should never have stood trial for murder after the baby died. Even now, Kristina still blames Ava for what happened when a jury of Ava’s peers declared the fall was an accident.
In 2026, we all saw Jordan (Tanisha Harper) lean over to kiss Curtis (Donnell Turner) while taking her eyes off the road. She admitted that she was the one who drifted into another lane and overcorrected when she swerved to miss an oncoming car. The accident was completely her fault. The other driver did nothing wrong, but in Curtis’ mind, the other driver needs to pay. He’s even convinced Jordan of that now —and fans have a problem with this because we know what we saw.
General Hospital’s Curtis needs to calm down
Every time Curtis starts insisting the other driver needs to be brought to justice for not stopping, fans take to social media to blow off steam. Now that Curtis insists that Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) has to be the other driver due to him driving the same kind of car the cops found pain from on a guardrail, he’s really getting out of hand.
“So clearly this accident story is Curtis poisoning Jordan’s mind with his arrogant ego. The clips and recaps are cringe. Curtis is annoying af,” wrote @Judy_7222020 on X (formerly Twitter).
@YankeeJosh has clearly had it with Curtis, tweeting, “My new nightly ritual is watching General Hospital while repeatedly giving the middle finger to Curtis Ashford.”
@FrankieVtotheD believes that Curtis is never satisfied, which is objectively true when watching GH. “First Curtis complains that Isaiah “caused” the accident & didn’t stop to help & Jordan could’ve died because of it. Now Curtis complains that Isaiah is always checking on Jordan at the hospital aka doing his job,” they wrote.
“Tired of this ridiculous storyline and even more tired of sanctimonious Curtis. The accident was Jordan‘s fault clear and simple. She’s lucky she didn’t kill herself, Curtis or anybody else when she moved into the opposite roadway,” wrote @sage255.
Other fans just feel this story has missed the mark in a big way, despite the best of intentions. As @SoapyHousewife put it: “WHAT are the writers thinking with this stupid butt SL about the car? The accident was JORDAN’S fault. No one was obligated to stop whether they saw the accident or not. Stop with this stupid nonsense.”
