Shayne Lamas wanted Mother’s Day to be special for Heather Locklear. Shayne is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas, who is now sixty-eight years old. Lorenzo confirmed last month that he and Locklear, who is now sixty-four years old, are now a couple. Shayne Lamas, who is one of Lorenzo’s six children, lost her mother, Michele Cathy Smith, in January 2018.
On May 10, Shayne, who has also been a former Bachelor star, shared her wishes for Heather Locklear on Instagram.
“Beautiful Heather, I adore you. The generous, loving, gracious energy you have makes you a very rare woman. Watching your relationship with my dad genuinely makes me believe one’s true love will be one’s lasting love,” shared Shayne.
“I hope you know how appreciated and loved you are by myself and my children. Sending you 🤍. Your daughter is so very lucky to have this day to share with you. Mines in heaven and I know she loves this for you both as well,” Shayne added.
As per a report shared by RadarOnline, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office confirmed that Michele Cathy Smith died on January 20, 2018. Smith was sixty years old at the time. The date happened to fall on Lorenzo’s sixtieth birthday. Lorenzo and Michele married in 1983, parting ways two years later. Shayne and her brother AJ are Michele’s children.
Heather Locklear responds to Shayne Lamas’s tribute:
Heather Locklear responded to Shayne Lamas’ Mother’s Day tribute in the comments of the post. As per a report shared by People, Locklear wished Shayne a happy Mother’s Day in return.
“Beautiful soul, thank you and happy Mothers Day!” she wrote.
“Your children are so wonderful which shows what a tremendous mom you are. Your dad is the same💘.”
As per a report shared by Life and Style, back in 2018, Shayne had also taken to Instagram following the sudden death of her mother, Michele Cathy Smith.
“Mommy, it hurts me so much. Please help me with the pain of losing you,” she wrote.
Shayne, who has two children with TheDirty.com founder Nik Richie, continued,
“We miss you so much and you left so soon. Tell me what to do tell me what to do oh please so lost without you. I will always be your little Peanut Promise me mom.”
Lorenzo Lamas opens up on finding love:
In an interview with Fox News Digital, published on April 29, Lorenzo Lamas opened up about finding love with Locklear, more than forty years after the two first met while posing together for the cover of Playgirl magazine. When asked if he ever expected it, Lorenzo told the outlet,
“The short answer is no. I mean, I’ve been through a lot of trial and error, and she is the most amazing woman that I think I’ve ever met.”
Those comments came just days after Lorenzo and Locklear stepped out together publicly for the first time as a couple. The pair attended the 2026 Chiller Theatre Expo in New Jersey on April 26, seen together at the horror and sci-fi event, smiling and close as they posed in matching all-black looks.
Shayne Lamas’ monthly support from Nik Richie drastically cut after back payment deal:
Shayne Lamas had previously made headlines over her support arrangement with ex-husband Nik Richie. As per a report shared by Us Weekly on November 11, 2025, the monthly payments Richie had been making to Lamas were set to see a significant cut.
The pair had wed on April 18, 2010. Shayne Lamas filed for divorce on June 9, 2021, in Orange County Superior Court, with both parties citing irreconcilable differences. Under the 2023 divorce settlement, Richie was paying Lamas $12,500 each month in total support, which included $7,500 in spousal payments and $5,000 toward child support. Richie and Shayne Lamas share joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Press and Lyon.
In October 2025, Richie filed court documents to reveal a new arrangement. He would now pay Shayne Lamas $4,200 per month in spousal support, with June 5, 2026 set as the date for his final payment. Richie, represented by Richard Sullivan of Sullivan Law and Associates, was set to continue paying the existing $5,000 per month in child support, split equally at $2,500 per child, until both kids turn eighteen.
As per a report shared by Us Weekly, a source close to Shayne Lamas revealed that Richie had owed a low six-figure sum in back support. Shayne agreed to forgive the debt and accept the reduced monthly payments, to help out her children’s father.
In response, Richie told Us,
“I hired Richard Sullivan to modify my agreement because I was tired of Shayne Lamas living off me. I have given her millions and I was still on the hook for another five million over her lifetime. Now, I’m excited for her to get a job. And extremely happy with the result, it’s good business.”
