Canadian singer shared cover art of his upcoming three albums via Instagram on Thursday night. The cover featured a gloved hand with sparklng rhinestones or sequins making an “okay” gesture. The gloves seem to be a nod to Michael Jackson and his signature glove.

When Michael Jackson performed Billie Jean at the Grammy Awards in 1983 and during his 1984 Victory Tour, the King of Pop wore a glove covered in Swarovski crystals. The glove became Jackson’s signature style. In a 1999 interview with Barbara Walters, Jackson mentioned that he went for a single glove since it looked “cooler than two.”
The glove has been up for auction several times. In 2010, it sold for $190,000 to a fan collector Wanda Kelley. In February, 2023, it was back on the auction block and was sold on the same month for $123,000. As per a NY Post report published in April, 2026, the gloves were put to auction again in April, 2026 by Nate D. Sanders.
As per the listing, the bidding was set to close on April 30, with the bidding starting at $50,000. As per the auction house, Jackson had gifted the piece to Paul Bedard in 1984. Jackson had collaborated with Paul during the Thriller era. The listing also includes extensive documentation which backs the gloves authenticity and its previous owners.

It is unclear if the gloves Drake is wearing in his album cover art is Michael Jackson’s. This is not the first time the Canadian singer has flaunted the gloves. In October, 2022, the singer tied Jackson’s record for Most No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a male soloist.
At that time, he celebrated his accomplishment by wearing a similar looking glove. The singer in his Instagram story, posted a photo of himself holding a glass of wine with a gloved hand. The gloves were seemingly bedazzles and sparkled.
While it’s yet to confirmed if the Canadian singer is the owner of the rare memorabilia, he is known to buy collector’s items. In January, the singer purchased $2.5 million worth of Pharrell’s old jewelry collection which Pharrell auctioned off.
In July, 2023, he spent over $1 million on a custom ring which was once owned by late Tupac Shakur.
