Natalie Portman is expecting her first child with boyfriend Tanguy Destable, who is a French electronic music producer. Tanguy Destable was born in a commune called Morlaix in Brittany, France.
Destable started his career in the early 2000s, when he was part of the band Abstrackt Keal Agram. He was with Abstrackt Keal Agram till 2006, and then he joined the group Yelle, with whom he remained till 2014.
While Abstrackt Keal Agram is an electronic music band that takes inspiration from hip-hop and rock, Yelle is an electropop band that was formed by Julie Budet and Jean-François Perrier in 2005.
In 2015, Tangay Destable released his debut solo album. Subsequently, he performed at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After that, he released three more albums. More recently, he has worked with Woodkid on the album S16 in 2020, and with Mylène Farmer on her album L’Emprise. He has also worked with Lady Gaga in 2023.
In 2024, he was the composer of the soundtrack for the film The Night Drags Itself and also worked with Warren Ellis on the soundtrack of the film I’m Always Here. He has composed tracks for the animated series Arcane, as well as the soundtrack for the Hideo Kojima game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
Tangay Destable previously dated actress Louise Bourgoin, and he shares two sons with her, Étienne and Vadim. Destable and Bourgoin separated in 2023. Destable and Natalie Portman began dating in 2025, after she and Benjamin Millepied divorced in 2024. They were spotted holding hands in Paris in June 2025.

Now, as mentioned above, Natalie Portman has announced that she is expecting a child with her boyfriend. The child is her third child overall, and her first one with Destable. The 44-year-old actress made the reveal in an exclusive piece with Harper’s Bazaar, stating:
“Tanguy and I are very excited. I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle. I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant. I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well.”
The actress continued:
“It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing. And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”
The actress later added that she is feeling in good health with this current pregnancy of hers and that she is keeping herself strong by swimming and Gyrotonic exercises.
Natalie Portman later went on to add that she is in Paris and focusing on her pregnancy, enjoying being in the city while being pregnant. She also joked that she would get an extra week of pregnancy in France:
“There’s been beautiful spring weather so it’s been pretty amazing to just walk in the incredible parks here and go see art. Just the usual things you do when you’re not working! In France, they consider full-term to be 41 weeks rather than 40, so I guess I get an extra week to be pregnant this time around.”
Natalie Portman also dismissed the idea of pregnancy cravings, saying she only craves fruit, particularly melon and pineapple. She also said that she was not looking at social media all that much.
