Who is Perrie Edwards partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain? Little Mix singer relationship explored amid marriage rumours

Perrie Edwards, the Little Mix singer, has made multiple headlines recently. As per a report shared by The Sun, sources have confirmed that Edwards is set to marry former footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Portugal this weekend. The couple share two children together and will fly out to the Algarve this week to say their vows in front of family and close friends, nearly three years after the pair got engaged in June 2022.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who spent the bulk of his playing career at Arsenal before making the move to Liverpool in the summer of 2017, quickly caught the eye at his new club. As per his profile on Liverpool Football Club, he was deployed in a midfield role with licence to support the attack, and his dribbling, acceleration and eye for a pass flourished within a rapidly improving Liverpool side. His time there proved to be very fruitful.

Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup in 2019, followed by the League title in 2019-20, and then both the FA Cup and the League Cup in 2022.

As per a report shared by The Sun, Perrie’s Little Mix bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are both on the guest list for the wedding, along with a handful of Alex’s former Celtic teammates. A source close to the couple shared that

“Perrie has been planning their big day for some time and now she cannot wait for it to come. It’s been ten years since she started dating Alex and since then they have had their gorgeous son and daughter, and they couldn’t be happier.”

The source added that

“She is flying to the Algarve with Alex, along with their family and closest friends. It is a very intimate celebration. It is everything Perrie and Alex have ever wanted.”

Perrie Edwards had also hinted that the wedding wasn’t far off, sharing last month that

“There’s so much coming up in both my personal and professional life — my wedding! I tried on the dress the other day and I’m so happy with it. I feel very fulfilled in my life right now, and I’m very happy with the balance. But yeah, a lot is going on — babies, dogs, planning my wedding.”

It has not all been plain sailing for Perrie Edwards in the lead-up to the big day. As per a report shared by The Sun, Edwards had second thoughts after choosing their venue in Portugal last September, sharing that

“I booked a venue for 2026. I viewed it in March, viewed it again in June, and I hated it. I want to get married, but I don’t know where now. I haven’t even sent out ‘save the dates’. But I do really want to get married soon.”

That being said, the couple’s road to the altar has had its own unusual qualities away from the venue hunt. As per a report shared by Hello, despite being together for more than eight years, Perrie Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain have spent much of their relationship living apart. During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2024, Edwards opened up about their long-distance situation, explaining that

“When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn’t get a lot of time off.”

The Forget About Us singer then elaborated on just how unconventional their arrangement has been.

“We’ve never lived together, the eight years we’ve been in a relationship, we’ve never actually lived together. We’re very laid back and very chilled,” she shared.

Fans of Little Mix may not be surprised to learn that Jesy Nelson is reportedly not on the guest list for the wedding. In an episode of Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast that dropped on June 9, Perrie Edwards opened up about the tensions that played out behind the scenes of the group. Though she was careful not to go into too much detail, she made her feelings clear, sharing that

“I’m not saying she’s this f**king monster, and everything was her fault, but take some accountability for your actions and realize that you were difficult, you had difficult moments, granted there was reasons for those moments, but you can only pick somebody up so many f**king times before you start losing track of your own sanity.”

Little Mix first came together on the British talent competition The X Factor back in 2011. Perrie Edwards, Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock had all originally auditioned as solo artists, before judge Kelly Rowland assembled them as a group. The quartet went on to release six studio albums together before Nelson departed in 2020, citing mental health struggles.
