Melanie Martin, Aaron Carter’s ex-fiancée, has reached a confidential financial settlement in the wrongful death lawsuit.
Martin is a social media personality, former model, influencer, who is famously known for her relationship with the late musician. Before gaining fame, she worked as a bartender and lash bar owner.
According to a report in TMZ, Martin filed a lawsuit on behalf of their son, Princeton Lyric Carter in October 2023, accusing doctors, dentists, mental health clinics and pharmacies of overprescribing medicines to Aaron Carter which contributed to his accidental drowning death in November 2022.
The lawsuit reached a confidential financial settlement in April, involving one psychiatrist and one mental health clinic named in the suit. The case has reached a partial settlement, as other parties like Walgreens, a Santa Monica dentist, and a Santa Monica pharmacy have not settled yet.

Melanie Martin has sparked an interest in her life through her on-and-off relationship with the late Aaron Carter.
Martin was born on May 31, 1992, in Bulgaria and relocated to the US when she was a child. She spent her formative years in the US while retaining pride in her Bulgarian heritage. Today, she is in her early 30s.
On her fiancé’s death, she told People magazine:
“My heart is completely broken over the passing of my fiancé Aaron. I knew he was struggling, and I tried everything to help him. I will now be raising our son as a single mother and this is the worst day of my life, but I have to be strong for our son.”
Martin and Aaron Carter first went official with their relationship in January 2020 after connecting through Instagram in 2019. Aaron proposed to her in 2020, but following their announcement, they remained in an on-and-off relationship for months. The pair later welcomed their son, Prince, in November 2021.
Carter was extremely excited to be a father and told People magazine that he couldn’t wait to have “lots of kids.” He said:
“This is what we both want. We both were trying for it. I’m just focused on the future and being a dad. I want to be a good dad. I’m focused, my music career has been doing really well, and touring, having my clothing line out, all that stuff I have going for me that isn’t necessarily just music. Family is most important to me.”
Earlier, the couple also shared details about Martin’s miscarriage in a YouTube livestream. Aaron Carter said in the video:
“She suffered a miscarriage due to stress conditions. We’re gonna give it some time, let her heal and then we’re going to try again. We both want that. I gotta take care of her.”
Aaron Carter and Martin split after their son was born and shared that they have “vowed” to make their son their priority. Martin has been currently active on Instagram as a lifestyle and beauty influencer with more than 200,000 followers. She is also an entrepreneur and owns a beauty brand, Love Lashes.
