The actor and comedian-turned-film producer, Nick Kroll, who is widely known for playing Ruxin in Jeff Schaffer’s FX original comedy series The League, recently appeared on the Smartless podcast hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes. As per E! News, during his conversation on the podcast on April 27, 2026, the 47-year-old Nick Kroll revealed how the British singer-turned-actor Harry Styles helped him propose to his wife, Lily Kwong.
Nick Kroll, who recently starred in Chandler Levack’s Netflix comedy film Roommates, opened up about how the Fine Line hitmaker, Harry Styles, helped him devise a strategy to propose to Lily Kwong amid the Coronavirus pandemic during the production of Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller film, Don’t Worry Darling.
While everything went according to plan, Nick managed to successfully propose to Lily, and now they’re married. Following the proposal, Kroll and Kwong tied the knot in November 2020 in California’s Big Sur, according to E! News.
As per People, Lily Kwong, who shares a daughter, Gaia, and a son, Leo, with Nick Kroll, is a professional landscape artist and designer from Los Angeles. While she was listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2018, Kwong has also collaborated with big brands such as St. Germain and Nike. As cited by People, she is also the founder of Freedom Gardens, an initiative for edible urban gardens.
Nick Kroll reveals how Harry Styles helped him propose to Lily Kwong


During the Smartless podcast, the Kroll Show star, Nick Kroll, shared how Harry Styles, along with him, came up with a plan to propose to Lil Kwong. Kroll said:
“It was the height of Covid and I was proposing to my wife and Harry sort of like—we were planning it out. We had just done the table read and we were all hanging out and I was sort of figuring it out.”
While talking about the proposal and how everything went down, Nick continued:
“My wife and I had just moved into our new house and I had a box and I was like, ‘Can you just move this last box.”
He went ahead and said:
“She was like, ‘You make me move the f**king box?'”
Nick then said:
“So she opened the box and there was a bunch of flowers and the ring.”
Talking about Harry Styles, Kroll said:
“Harry checked in with me to be like, ‘How did it go?’ So I told him basically before we spoke to our families to let them know because he had been checking in.”
