Prime Video premiered a YA hockey romance TV show, Off Campus, on May 13 this year. The platform released all eight episodes at once so that viewers could binge-watch the series over the weekend. However, most Prime Video users might have already finished the show by now.
Elle Kennedy’s show introduced a twist by revealing Charlie Evans as Hunter Davenport, a talented new hockey player for the Hawks. At first, this character appeared as the mysterious Carter St. James, with whom Allie hooked up at a bar. John Logan, a Briar University hockey player, wants this promising recruit to join the team’s lineup.
Charlie is a musician and an actor, best known for playing Jeremy Bradford in Paradise, Leonard in five episodes of Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, and a young singer in two episodes of Future Man. He makes a surprise appearance as Hunter in the season finale, The Line Change.

Off Campus Episode 7: Who is Carter St. James?
The showrunners of Off Campus, Louisa Levy and Gina Fattore, introduced a surprising character, Hunter Davenport. They first introduced him in the episode The Faceoff as a mysterious guy at a bar who hooks up with Hayes.
The scene begins at 43 minutes and 25 seconds, when Carter asks about ice. He starts impressing Allie by saying:
“Look, the benefit of being strangers is you don’t owe me anything, right?”
Allie replies:
“You are very charming and have the kind of body that suggests you work out on federal holidays. You know, I love love, but I also love s*x.”
When Carter asks about her boyfriend, she denies having one. She explains that she wants hot, meaningless s*x, but the last time she tried, she ended up hurting someone she truly cared about. This time, she wants to do it the right way.
Off Campus Episode 8: Who is Hunter Devenport?
The episode The Line Change revealed that the actual Hunter Devenport is Carter St. James. Allie is still in love with Carter, but she doesn’t know that he is Hunter. She notices Carter running on the street at night and calls him by his name. Watching his abs, she can’t resist herself. Carter teases:
“You checking me out?”
The ending of the episode revealed that Hunter is a potential new recruit for the Hawks and someone Dean Di Laurentis despises. Dean never forgave Hunter for what happened with his sister, Summer, back in high school.
The final scene shows a fight between Dean and Hunter at 50 minutes and 47 seconds. Dean becomes furious when he sees Hunter at the bar. The finale closes with fists, fury, and unfinished business.
The show has been officially renewed for a second season.
