Former actresses and fashion designer duo Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Fuller Olsen, best known as the Olsen twins, attended their brother Trent Olsen’s May wedding to Alexis Armistead in Hollywood Hills, California.
The bride was an interior designer who goes by @designaka on Instagram.
On June 25, Alexis shared a picture from her wedding to Trent, captioned “Family [white heart emoji]” on her private account @alexisaka3. The Olsen twins, who are now her sisters-in-law, were seen posing with the newlyweds and other friends and family.
Ashley Fuller Olsen was seen huddled behind the bride, as she stood with her bouquet. Meanwhile, Mary-Kate Olsen stood between her father, David Olsen and Ashley’s husband and her brother-in-law, Louis Eisner.
The Olsen twins, best known for their designer brand The Row, were seen matching other members of their newly blended family in all-black outfits.
More about Olsen twins’ brother Trent Olsen and his wife Alexis Armistead
The Olsen twins’ older brother Trent Olsen was born in 1984 to parents David “Dave” Olsen, a mortgage banker, and Jarnette “Jarnie” Jones, a personal manager. In fact, he is their firstborn.
When they were young, Trent appeared in a couple of episodes of the straight-to-video mystery series The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. His other cameos in the twins’ projects include You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s Sleepover Party.
Now, he lives away from the spotlight and works as a DJ. In fact, Trent, who is only two years younger than the Olsen twins, goes by @djtront on Instagram.
Over the years, Trent Olsen has also worked as a comics writer for Storm King Productions (seven projects between 2014 and 2016) and has been the editor-in-chief of Rogue Matter since 2021. He also wrote screenplays for the 2009 television movie Model Behavior and the 2023 short film Leaving Yellowstone. Trent graduated from the University of Southern California in 2006.
In 2012, their other sister and actress Elizabeth Olsen, 37, told Interview Magazine:
“My older brother Trent is actually the most talented one in the whole family, seriously. He is stupid talented. He made me watch and listen to and read everything he thought was cool. I think he thought he could mold my brain. He’s a writer. He’s trying to be a screenwriter.”
The four siblings also have a half-sister, Courtney, 29, and half-brother, Jake, 28, from their father’s second marriage to McKenzie Olsen.
Trent Olsen’s wife Alexis Armistead’s bio on her @designaka profile reads:
“Chic & Unique Design. Whimsical Drama. Scale. Textures. Green Velvet Enthusiast. Sucker for chinoiserie.”
In a February 2023 Instagram post, the Olsen twins’ brother recalled how he began his romance with Alexis Armistead:
“We’ve all been through some wild adjustments over the past few years. For me, I’ve had to hit a couple reset buttons that have included professional to lifestyle shifts… Amidst the unknown of it all, I found myself reconnecting with an amazing human I’ve known for much longer than I want my age to remind me.”
Trent continued:
“It’s crazy to think I met this person over 20 years ago with plenty of overlapping social circles, but very little time spent together. Touching base over the years has always resulted in long and engaging catch up, but rarely time to connect in person. The first time we made plans to hang out, I requested it be a date… Which resulted in many, many more.”
Last year, Olsen wished his now-wife on her birthday with a heartfelt post. It was captioned:
“This year has had its ups and downs, but there’s no one else I’d rather have navigated everything with. You have been so many roles, from a rock when I’ve needed stability to a life raft when I’ve struggled to stay afloat. I am beyond grateful that I’ve been able to return those traits to you in kind, especially when needed most. It is an honor to be your partner and soon-to-be husband.”
Earlier this month, the Olsen twins celebrated their 40th birthday. As infants, they shared their acting debut as Michelle Tanner on the family sitcom Full House between 1987 and 1995. Their final appearance was in the 2004 dramedy film, New York Minute.
By 2006, the Olsen twins stepped back from Hollywood and founded their NYC-based fashion brand, The Row, as well as the production company Dualstar.
Speaking with i-D Magazine in 2021, the fraternal twins noted about their acting retirement:
“What we did know was that we wanted to take that time to take a break from what we were previously doing and to explore things that interested us and explore what life has to offer [creatively]. We wanted to explore making something of ourselves.”
Last November, the sisters received the Accessory Designer of the Year Award at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley made a rare public appearance and shared a heartfelt acceptance speech.
