Andy Grammer, the forty-two-year-old singer best known for “Honey, I’m Good,” and his wife Aijia Grammer are reportedly expecting their third child together. The pair took to Instagram on May 16 to make the announcement. They wrote,
“We were trying to make music and accidentally made another girl!”

As per a report shared by Mandatory, Aijia Lise Grammer, born Aijia Lise Guttman is a singer and songwriter who graduated with a major in Jazz Studies from California State University. She launched her career singing backing vocals for a number of well-known artists, including Colbie Caillat, Hilary Duff and Andy Grammer himself. That being said, her work wasn’t limited to music, as she also appeared in minor roles in a few short films during the 2010s.
As a recording artist, Aijia Grammer released her debut EP, Learning to Let Go, in 2012 and later dropped the singles “For You” and “Magic.” She has also written music for TV commercials.
Aijia Grammer on growing up in a musical family and the moment she and Andy truly connected:
Aijia Grammer has opened up about being raised in a “very musical family.” In a 2019 interview with VoyageLA, she shared,
“My grandfather on one side was the head of the Jazz Piano Dept at USC, and my grandparents on the other side ran a music venue in Hollywood.”
She added that her parents always encouraged it at home.
“I always say that music was the ‘sports’ of my family,” she explained.
It was through music that she and Andy first crossed paths. As per a report shared by Yahoo Lifestyle, the couple met in the music program at California State University in Northridge, where Aijia Grammer was studying vocal jazz. Andy recalled “really noticing” her when he attempted to recruit her bass player for a new band he was putting together.
That being said, Andy opened up to Glamour about not making a move straight away.
“I didn’t ask her out at first. We were kind of just acquaintances through music, but what got me is that when my mom passed away, I would do these voice notes called ‘Kathy Grams,'” he shared.
Andy explained that the Kathy Grams were short songs he wrote for anyone dealing with a difficult time. He revealed to Glamour that Aijia “was looking over someone that was about to pass away,” and the day she came over to write one is when the two
“started to connect a bit.”
Andy proposal to Aijia Grammer and how the couple celebrated years of marriage:
As per a report shared by People, Andy Grammer made sure Aijia’s friends and family were part of his proposal. He showed up at her house dressed in a suit, blindfolded her and drove her around for close to an hour until she was feeling “pretty car sick.” When he took the blindfold off, they were back at her house, which had been set up to look like a French restaurant, with a line of her loved ones waiting outside.
Andy later opened up about it to Yahoo Lifestyle.
“So one of her good friends is like the maitre d’, and we get up to the front and I’m like, ‘Listen, I called ahead, I hope we can get a spot,'” he shared.
Aijia noted that everyone was doing terrible French accents. She added,
“He proposed, and I said yes, and everyone cheered. It was so sweet.”
On March 11, 2012, Aijia took to Instagram to announce the engagement, sharing a photo of herself with the ring. She wrote,
“Ummm….Guess what? @andygrammer.”
The couple married a few months later, in July 2012. Aijia wore a strapless gown paired with red pumps for the wedding. By 2023, the couple had reached eleven years of marriage. Aijia commemorated the anniversary on Instagram, writing,
“Easiest decision I ever made.”
Aijia Grammer opens up about her Voice audition and reflects on a bruised ego:
As per a report shared by People, Aijia Grammer appeared in a 2016 episode of The Voice, auditioning with “Say Something.” The judges did not turn their chairs for her.
As per a report shared by Billboard, Aijia opened up about the experience in a Facebook statement. She described herself as “a person who lives life with their heart on their sleeve” and explained her thinking behind the decision to audition.
“An opportunity to audition for The Voice came up and I thought, ‘Why not?’ I had always said that I would NEVER do one of these shows. But I’m a firm believer in saying ‘Yes’ when something rolls your way. If you say ‘Yes,’ something amazing could happen, but if you say ‘No’ you’ll never really know what could have been,” she penned.
Aijia Grammer also addressed the outcome openly.
“Now I’m not going to sit here and tell you that my ego isn’t a bit bruised. Sure it is. But your ego is not a real thing. And isn’t that what life’s all about? Doing things that scare you? You progress when you allow yourself to be vulnerable and to be seen,” she added.
