Seth Rogen’s recent cameo in The Boys has left fans surprised. He appeared as a fictional version of himself, sitting and chatting with Kumail Nanjiani, Will Forte, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Malchemical, played by Misha Collins, in Mister Marathon’s house in The Boys Season 5 Episode 5.
However, this is not the first time the actor has appeared on The Boys, as he has been in a recurring role, appearing in almost every season. In the recent episode of The Boys, released on Wednesday, Seth, with others, was seen playing cards, where Homelander and Soldier Boy arrive to get V1, which can make Homelander immortal.
However, his cameo lasts only about ten minutes before the house scene turns extremely chaotic as Mister Marathon keeps getting tricked by Soldier Boy, killing his friends one after another, including Rogen.
Seth Rogen in The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 cameo explained

In The Boys Season 5 Episode 5, Soldier Boy and Homelander pay a visit to Mister Marathon to get their hands on V1. He lies about having a good contact with Bombsight, adding that while he doesn’t have the V1, which can make Homelander immortal, Bombsight does have the drug. He even tries to make Homelander stay in his house for long by saying that he has contacted Bombsight and he will be there any minute. Though, in reality, they didn’t have any contact for the last five years.
Rogen, who was speaking badly about Homelander, introduces himself to the two most powerful Supes, saying:
“Seth Rogen. We actually met once before with Black Noir at the premiere for Silent Vengeance 3: Vengeance Reloaded. Big fan, I’m actually testifying in front of Congress for you, you know, outing suspected Starlighters. Spoilers: Post Malone.”
Though Homelander wasn’t very happy about their intros, as he was leaving, he let them know that he heard all of them and they’re going to pay for their memes and hateful posts. The scene takes a turn after Forte starts blaming Kumail and Seth for coming up with the ideas, and Seth tries to save himself by saying it was Forte.
Seeing the perfect chance, Malchemical uses his power that made Homelander unconscious. While they try to convince Soldier Boy to be on their side, Soldier Boy, being the father of Homelander, states that he is not leaving his son’s side.
Soldier Boy uses Mister Marathon’s speed against him, calling him over each time and placing someone in his path, leading to one brutal death after another inside the house.
Just when Seth Rogen was trying to escape, Soldier Boy plays his trick once again, blasting his leg through Mister Marathon. Seth, out of confusion and panic, asks the Supe what he did to him, and he doesn’t want to die.
Mister Marathon tells him:
“I didn’t mean to. It’s going to be okay. I’ll remember you every time I watch an American pickle.”
While Seth is still trying to process it, Mister Marathon suddenly snaps his neck, bringing his cameo to an end.
The episode ends in chaos, with one death after another. Soldier Boy uses baby oil to make Mister Marathon slip, and Homelander then kills him by crushing his face under his foot. On the other side, viewers also see the death of Firecracker, bringing her story also to an end. The episode was full of chaos, showing multiple stories, which included Butcher’s dog Terror as well.
Along with being in the recurring role, Seth Rogen is also an executive producer of The Boys, working on all forty episodes.
