Where is Nikki Glaser from? Comedian recalls leaving Hollywood for hometown

Nikki Glaser has made multiple headlines recently. The forty-one-year-old comedian packed up and moved to her hometown, St. Louis, Missouri, in 2022. (Glaser wasn’t actually born in St. Louis. The comedian’s birth place is actually Cincinnati, Ohio.)

She traded in years of Los Angeles living for something quieter. It wasn’t a private decision either, as the transition played out on the E! reality series Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?, with her parents EJ and Julie Glaser part of the show.

As of this writing, she still resides there. This week, Nikki Glaser appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark to promote her new comedy special, Good Girl, which she shot at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis. Host Mark Consuelos asked what it felt like going home to film. Glaser didn’t hesitate.

“I live in St. Louis,” she told him.

“I moved back to St. Louis after Covid and kind of just got away from it all and stayed there.”

As per a report shared by the Daily Mail, the Fabulous Fox crowd was far from a room of strangers for Glaser.

“Lots of people from high school, people from my pilates class, my self-tan lady from the strip mall. But it was fun,” she said,

before adding,

“It’s fine that my childhood dentist knows about my s*x life now. I guess that’s appropriate.”

Nikki Glaser says life on the coasts was all about chasing status

Glaser has been making this point for a while now. As per a report shared by the Daily Mail, she appeared on St. Louis on the Air last summer and opened up about why life on the coasts eventually stopped feeling right. It came down to one thing, in her opinion.

“When I’m on both of the coasts, it’s like constantly comparing yourself, and everyone’s just really chasing that status,” she said.

St. Louis is different. She described it as a place where follower counts, famous connections and industry accolades hold very little weight.

“That’s not here, and that’s not what people value here. And it just recalibrates me,” she explained.

“Here it just feels a bit more relaxed, and I get back to what’s important: having a good time and going out to eat,” she added.

Beyond the pace of things, Glaser also shared that being back allowed her to

“focus on my family while they’re still around and healthy, and want to hang out with me.”

Nikki Glaser reveals Leonardo DiCaprio sent her three baskets of pasta after her Golden Globes roast

Glaser stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 21 to talk about Good Girl, though the conversation quickly turned to her Golden Globes hosting duties. She hosted the ceremony for the second consecutive year in January, and her monologue included a roast of Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she called out for rarely sharing anything about his personal life in public.

After the ceremony, Glaser shared that she sent flowers to everyone she roasted. DiCaprio was the only one who sent something back, and what he chose to send made it into the Tonight Show conversation.

“And then he sent me three baskets of pasta as a thank you,” she told Fallon.

“So funny. So good. And part of me was like ‘Does Leo want to smash?'”

The pasta callback came from a joke Glaser built around a 1991 interview, in which DiCaprio had said his favorite food was

“pasta, pasta and more pasta.”

As per the ceremony footage, the One Battle After Another actor laughed, mouthed “Yes!” and gave Glaser a playful thumbs up from the audience when she landed the joke. She reflected on that moment with Fallon.

“There was nothing else to say about him. And then I was like ‘Well, that’s kind of funny,’ so I was like ‘This guy doesn’t reveal anything about himself. Let’s find something he’s revealed,'” she explained.

Glaser also leaned into her long-running joke about The Wolf of Wall Street actors well-documented habit of dating younger women, noting the bit had taken on a life of its own.

“That joke’s been going on longer than, you know, his current girlfriend has been alive. It’s truly been around forever,” she quipped.

Nikki Glaser kept going on The Tonight Show, deadpanning that three baskets of dry pasta wasn’t exactly the gesture of someone interested in her romantically.

“The type of girl he goes for, he wouldn’t send pasta to,” she joked.

“It was dry pasta. I think the company was Mena Pasta. Spaghetti O’s, maybe, I would have been more his type. A crib full of Dunkaroos and Go-Gurt, I would have been like ‘Oh! He’s into me.'”

When the audience responded to her jokes, Glaser wasn’t done.

“He dates young girls. I can’t stop,” she added.
