Viva One’s much-anticipated TV series, My Husband Is a Mafia Boss is finally here, following the story from a hugely popular Wattpad story created by the late author Dianna Marie Maranan, known online as Yanalovesyouu. The show introduces the first on-screen pairing of Joseph Marco and Rhen Escaño in the leading roles.
It premiered on April 9 on Viva One and is now expected to follow a weekly release schedule of new episode every Saturday. Each episode is about 60 minutes long, giving fans a closer look at Aemie and Ezekiel’s interesting story.
Right from the first episode, we learn that Aemie is a college student who has been excelling in her studies. However, when it comes to real-life situations, she gets lost in her own world and starts believing scenarios that come into her mind.
On the other side, there’s Zeke (Ezekiel) who is a powerful businessman who is also running a mafia network secretly. When these two meet, their interaction is engaging for viewers as Aemie misunderstands Zeke which creates a fun situation.

What happened in episode 1 of My Husband Is a Mafia Boss: A quick recap
Episode 1 begins with Aemie Romero introducing herself as a bright and cheerful university student who loves to talk to people. She reveals that her life was normal until a man suddenly showed up and said she’s his wife now.
During a lecture, Aemie hears her professor teaching about drugs and how rapidly such networks are increasing and how students should stay away from them. But instead of understanding what the teacher said, Aemie makes up a whole new scenario in her mind.
She starts believing that her professor wants to make a drug syndicate and also wants the students to join her. Though she’s a top scholar at her university, Aemie is quite dumb when it comes to dealing with real-life situations.
And when she first met Ezekiel “Zeke” Roswell, the CEO of Rosewell Corp., Aemie misunderstood him as a driver. Not only this, she even misunderstood a beggar as Zeke’s child and gave him all her money.
Zeke decides to drop Aemie off at a mental hospital, believing she is mad. But once he learns that she’s planning to meet the CEO and belongs to the university, he also realizes that Aemie is actually innocent and dumb.
After reaching the office, Zeke takes out a ring from his locker and gives it to Aemie. He asks her to wear it and she does exactly what he told her. Aemie saw all the employees calling Zeke “sir”, yet she didn’t realize that he was not a driver but Ezekiel Rosewell.
He drops her off at the end of episode 1 of My Husband Is a Mafia Boss and asks his secretary to make sure Aemie Romero is representing the university in the upcoming event. This way, Aemie might finally realize that Zeke is the CEO she has been looking forward to meeting.
