When do new episodes of the Apple TV sci-fi drama drop?

Apple TV has unveiled a teaser and first-look images for Silo Season 3, the upcoming chapter of its Graham Yost-created sci-fi dystopian drama series, based on author Hugh Howey’s eponymous trilogy of novels (Wool, Shift and Dust). The upcoming season is scheduled to premiere on July 3.

Led by actress Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols, Silo is set in a dystopian future and follows a society of 10,000 people who live in a giant silo that extends 144 levels underground. A separate timeline (set centuries prior) investigates the origins of this structure and the mysterious circumstances under which it was created.

The Silo Season 3 teaser marks the return of Ferguson’s Juliette, along with the series’ main cast, namely Common, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Shane McRae, Harriet Walter, Remmie Milner, Rick Gomez, Billy Postlethwaite, Alexandria Riley, Steve Zahn and Clare Perkins.

What can you expect in Silo Season 3?

The official synopsis for the third season of Silo reads as follows:

“Juliette Nichols survives her forced ‘cleaning’ but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in the “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew and Congressman Daniel Keene uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences.

Silo Season 3 will continue the series’ dual timeline as Juliette returns to the silo following her forced ‘cleaning’ in the Season 2 finale. While the protagonist will return, she will experience memory loss, as a new rebellion brews in the titular underground bunker. The upcoming season will follow Juliette as she struggles to piece back her memory and the Silo’s origins, while new threats and rebellion stir her surroundings.

The upcoming season is set to expand the roles of actors Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zukerman, who appeared as journalist Helen Drew and Congressman Daniel Keene, respectively, in the Silo Season 2 finale.

The recently unveiled Silo Season 3 teaser features an eerie voiceover from Juliette, who announces:

“Before we can know why we’re here. Before we can know everything is as it is. Before we know, how it all will end, we need to understand how it all began.”

After two seasons of mystery, it looks like the upcoming season will finally address the origins of the silo and expand on the ‘Before Times’ timeline.

Tune in to the Silo Season 3 premiere on Apple TV on July 3.
