According to a recent update in the Apple Siri AI lawsuit settlement, the company has agreed to pay $250 million (£184 million) to settle a class-action lawsuit filed by plaintiff Peter Landsheft in a US federal court in California in 2024, accusing it of using advertisements for misleading iPhone buyers with AI-powered Siri features that have still not seen the light of day.
Seasoned Apple users and tech enthusiasts would remember when Apple previewed AI-powered Siri features at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2024, months ahead of the iPhone 16 launch that September. However, much to the disappointment of millions of iPhone users, the company pulled back these advertisements in March 2025, claiming that the Siri revamp would be delayed and would arrive at a further date.
However, millions of users had already purchased the newly launched iPhone in hopes of Siri’s AI-powered features, which led Peter Landsheft to file an official claim.

Ever since Apple agreed to settle the lawsuit for $250 million, iPhone users have been wondering if they are eligible for a piece of this pie. The Apple Siri AI lawsuit settlement can be claimed by anyone in the US who purchased an iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max or iPhone 15 Pro Max between 10 June 2024 and 29 March 2025. The steps to file a claim are simple: users are required to provide their phone numbers, Apple Account information and their device serial numbers. Users would then be required to keep an eye on their emails as the company will send notices, guiding them through the next steps (within 45 days after May 5).
According to the recent terms of the Apple Siri AI lawsuit settlement US buyers are eligible for a settlement between $25 (£18) and $95 (£70) per device which could increase if fewer people file, suggesting early claimers would walk away with a significantly larger amount. Further terms of the settlement also revealed that the Apple lawsuit covers roughly 36 million devices sold in the US between June 2024 and March 2025.

Even after the terms of the Apple Siri AI lawsuit settlement were made available to the public on May 5, the company refused to admit any wrongdoing, claiming:

The company refused to take responsibility for the matter but the AI-powered & personalized Siri features remain unavailable even now. This is misleading for buyers who purchased a new iPhone in September 2024 after Apple’s impressive campaign.
Months after the Apple Siri AI lawsuit settlement, the company is all set to preview the personalized Siri features at WWDC on 8 June that are expected to arrive with iOS 27.
