Mickey Rourke’s dog Ivan is currently facing a severe health crisis that is threatening its life. According to reports, the dog needs a life-saving surgery, but unfortunately, the cost of that surgery seems beyond the means of the actor and former professional boxer.
Sources close to the boxer told TMZ that Ivan needs an expensive heart surgery, which costs about $10,000, to get well. The source also told the news outlet that there is a possibility of follow-up surgeries costing an additional $6,000 to $8,000, but the actor is in dire straits and might not be able to afford any of the procedures.
This development comes after Mickey Rourke rejected a GoFundMe that was set up to help him out during this difficult time.

Mickey Rourke emphatically denounced a GoFundMe created on his behalf. Calling it a scam, Mickey rejected the account, which had raised over $100,000. In a video shared on his official Instagram, the actor revealed that he was embarrassed and that he would rather shove a gun up his *ss than ask for charity. He shared that he was frustrated and confused about the situation and promised to refund everyone who donated.
The GoFundMe is no longer in operation, with Mickey Rourke’s manager, Kimberly Hines, writing:
“Thank you so much for your generosity and for standing with Mickey during this time. Your support truly means a great deal to us, and we are grateful for every donation. We remain committed to finding a resolution and are working with Mickey to determine the next steps.”
She also told TMZ in a statement:
“I’m very resilient and committed to seeing Mickey make the right choices for his career and for his personal well-being. That said, we are at a moment of truth, and ultimately only Mickey can decide how he wants to play out his next chapter.”
Mickey Rourke, however, recently wrote on his Instagram:
“My last post today” iam “sooo upset & enbarassed “about “SCAM” TO RAISE MONEY FOR ME!! WHICH WAS AS IVE STATED A CRUEL ENBARRASMENT. OVER 100 THOUSAND $$WAS RAISED BY CONCERNED STRANGERS AND OTHERS. MY ATTOURNEY IS DOING EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO MAKE SURE ANYONE WHO GAVE THERE ” HARD EARNED MONEY$$$ IS QUICKLY RETURNED. TRUTHFULLY THERE IS STILL OVER 90 THOUSAND DOLLARS THAT STILL NEEDS TO BE REFUNDED TO CONCERNED PARTYS THAT SENT THERE MONEY.”
He added:
