What were Isabel Veloso’s words for her son? All we know as Brazilian influencer dies after a long battle with Hodgkin lymphoma

Brazilian social media influencer Isabel Veloso died at the age of 19 on January 10. According to a report by The U.S. Sun, Veloso was battling with Hodgkin lymphoma for the last four years. In October 2025, she had to undergo a bone marrow transplant surgery. Before she went for the operation, she wrote a heartwarming letter for her one-year-old son, Arthur. The letter, which was in the form of an Instagram post, mentioned (translated):

“Hey there my love Mum is not with you right now and I know you feel it I know my lap is missing. And that smell you are looking for in the air is not yet there…but i want to tell you something: i didnt walk away..I am here through it all. On your pillow, on your favorite toy, the sound the house makes when you wake up. And mainly … i am inside the reason that got me up one more time: you, my love.”

Isabel Veloso also wrote:

“Mom is in a body care place Why I will be strong again To carry you over. To run with you in the park. To see you growing, smiling, sleeping peacefully. And I will be back. It’s gonna take awhile, but I’ll be back. With the same heart, with the same smell, with the same love. With a hug that will stick again everything that this longing has done. If someone is reading this to you, know: Mom is listening too from wherever she is.”

Isabel Veloso wrote that her son would never be alone. Even if they were not physically together, her love would always be there with him. Concluding the letter, she wrote:

“I love you more than any distance can measure. I promise i’ll be back soon..”

Isabel Veloso said that caring for Arthur was always her dream

At the time of writing, Isabel Veloso had four million followers on Instagram. In January 2025, she wrote another post and shared a photo of baby Arthur in the NICU. Isabel wrote that she did not mind standing for hours after her surgery just to look into her son’s eyes. She said she accepted the pain of giving birth and dealing with sore clothes from milk.

Isabel Veloso also shared that holding him for long hours, even when her arms hurt or when he took a long time to sleep, never felt like a problem. She added that she never refused him a hug, even when she was tired early in the morning, because caring for him had always been her dream. Isabel Veloso went on to write (translated):

“My heart is all yours, it beats for you. I’m fascinated by your little face, and I’d spend millions of minutes admiring you. Your smell is the sweetest smell I have ever felt in my life I was reborn when I first drew you, I swear I could feel every part of my body regenerating when I heard you cry. I was reborn when you were born, you are my sense of everything.”

Isabel Veloso’s husband, Lucas Veloso Borbas, penned a heartfelt post a few days ago. He wrote that with her, a part of him was also gone. She was his light in the darkest days and gave him courage when everything felt like giving up.
