What was Jack Schlossberg’s reaction to Love Story? John F. Kennedy’s grandson shares thoughts about family’s portrayal in Ryan Murphy drama

Former US President John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, has recently opened up about what he thought of Connor Hines’ romantic-drama FX original series Love Story, released in February 2026, which revolved around the relationship of John F. Kennedy Jr and Carolyn Basset, as per Today.

While Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon played John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Basset, respectively, Naomi Watts played Jacqueline Kennedy, and Grace Gummer played Caroline Kennedy, in the show. However, as cited by Today, in a recent interview with Katie Couric on the show Next Question with Katie Couric, the 33-year-old Jack Schlossberg was asked about the show and what he thought of his family’s depiction in it.

A member of the Democratic Party, Jack Schlossberg’s initial reaction regarding the show was that he made it clear that he had “no problem” with whoever enjoyed watching “Love Story.” However, Schlossberg did mention that he had a problem with the show’s fictionalized drama and how the Kennedy family was portrayed as celebrities and icons. Jack Schlossberg went ahead and said:

“These are public servants. It’s easy to remember my grandfather, my grandmother, my uncle, who were very glamorous people, as just celebrities like people today, but they were public servants. We’re not royalty. We don’t have a royal family in this country.”

While Schlossberg mentioned that he and his mother, Caroline Kennedy, did not watch the Ryan Murphy executive-produced Love Story, he shared that when he showed a video of Grace Gummer’s depiction to his mother, he added:

“We were laughing so hard. The person was freaking out and we’re just laughing so hard as if that’s how my mom acts.”

During his interview with Katie Couric, Jack Schlossberg did mention his uncle John F. Kennedy Jr, and talked about his life and legacy, and shared how “cool” he was. Schlossberg said:

“It’s not surprising that people, once they remember who he was, want to dress like him and be like him. He was awesome.”

He further added:

“He was a smart, attractive person, who cared about politics. And tried to blend politics and media in his time, just like I’m trying to do right now with social media and politics and our campaign right now.”
