Britney Spears entered the rehab facility voluntarily this Sunday. Before checking into the rehab center, the singer uploaded two posts on social media, one showing her dance moves and the other a bowl of flowers.
In the dance video, Spears was seen in a sheer bodysuit, a red cap, and black high boots. The video has since gone viral, showing her dancing to I Like It by Cardi B, J Balvin and Bad Bunny. In the last post, a bowl of flowers, which were soaked in the water, was seen. The caption of the post read:
“Touch 🇯🇵”
The singer was arrested last month on charges of driving under the influence (DUI). The news of her entering the rehab facility was confirmed by her representative, who stated that Spears enrolled on April 12. While Spears was active on social media, she didn’t release any statement about the same, keeping the details private.
Why was Britney Spears arrested?
Britney Spears was taken into custody in Ventura last month on suspicion of DUI. Her representative released a statement after the arrest that read:
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
The singer was released from custody the next day. After her arrest last month, the singer also uploaded photos with her two sons, Sean and Jayden, whom she shares with Kevin Federline. Later, a source gave a statement, talking about their bond as reported by Page Six, that read:
“Her sons are with her right now. They love her and want to support her and just want her to feel better.”
The statement from the source further adds that the people close to the singer:
“Would very much like to get her into a treatment center so she can have the time and space to get herself healthy and on the right track. It would be a medical detox. This is not about getting her back to work, this is about Britney living a fulfilled and healthy life with her boys and her family. That is her priority right now. She just wants to be a good mom and to be happy.”
Spears was reportedly alone at the time of her arrest. She was driving a BMW 430i. The singer was also taken to a medical facility by police to carry out blood tests as part of the DUI procedure. While her Instagram account is active as of now, the singer reportedly deactivated it after the incident.
