Kristin Gallant, one half of the popular platform Big Little Feelings, has shared a personal and revealing update weeks after her husband Tyler went through a serious head injury that left the couple in fear. The incident happened during a trip when a romantic milestone ended up becoming a medical emergency and now weeks after, he is slowly recovering and Gallant has written a long update on her social media.
The incident happened in late March, while the couple was away celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary. Tyler was found badly bleeding outside their hotel after reportedly passing out or possibly experiencing a seizure while out getting coffee, and was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center’s ER. Photos Kristin shared showed visible gashes, scrapes and stitches across his face. Tyler was eventually discharged on April 1st, with tests coming back normal, and the couple returned home to begin processing what they’d been through.
All this while, Kristin has been sharing updates as they come and is now sharing another update of how they have processed the incident. She described the incident as a clear “before and after” moment, writing about standing over Tyler in those terrifying early moments and not knowing whether she was looking at their last seconds together. She reflected on how quickly everything that had felt important before simply fell away, and how what remained was nothing but love, stripped of all the noise.
Part of her statement read,
The past few weeks have been… a lot. Tyler’s incident was the kind of “before and after” moment you never think will be yours – until it is. One minute we were celebrating 10 years together, talking about marriage lessons and laughing about nothing. The next, I’m standing over him, not knowing if these are my final moments with him….What’s left is just this raw, gut-level clarity: I love you, I love you, I love you. Please be okay.
The post also introduced fans to a new episode of their podcast, which was originally meant to be a happy, celebratory look back at a decade of marriage. The couple ultimately used it to share the ten most important lessons their marriage had taught them, reframed through the lens of nearly losing each other.
More details about Big Little Feelings and her work
For anyone unfamiliar with the name, Big Little Feelings is one of the biggest parenting platforms on the internet right now. Kristin Gallant co-founded it alongside her best friend Deena Margolin, a licensed marriage and family therapist.
The two friends built Big Little Feelings after finding that existing parenting resources were either too academic, too overwhelming, or just not very relatable. Founded in 2020, Big Little Feelings has since grown into a community of over three million people worldwide, with two bestselling online courses targeting parents of kids aged one to six: Winning the Toddler Stage and Potty Training Made Simple.
Big Little Feelings focuses on giving parents science-backed tools to manage big emotions, break the cycle of daily power struggles, and build calmer, more connected homes.
