Internet personality-turned-podcaster, Alex Cooper, the host and founder of the Call Her Daddy podcast, was seen attending the 2026 YouTube Upfront, which was recently rebranded as Brandcast, with her husband and business partner Matt Kaplan, at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall in New York, on May 13, 2026, as per Variety.
As the 31-year-old Alex Cooper, who attended the annual YouTube event with Matt Kaplan, a film producer and the CEO of ACE Entertainment, she also discussed and announced the upcoming new shows of her media company, The Unwell Network. Besides Cooper, the YouTube Brandcast also witnessed other high-profile celebrities and renowned internet personalities like Trevor Noah, Kareem Rahman, the comedy group Dude Perfect, and Jesse Riedel, according to Variety.
Amid Alex Cooper’s visit to the YouTube Upfront event with husband Matt Kaplan, online reports have come to light regarding the film producer, as he has been reportedly maintaining a hostile work environment. As cited by People, according to an April 20, 2026, Bloomberg News report, Matt Kaplan, who co-founded the Gen-Z media company, Trending, along with Alex Cooper, was accused of reportedly misbehaving and yelling at staff members and other employees at their company.
While there have been no official comments from Matt Kaplan yet, the co-founder of the Gen-Z media company was also accused in the Bloomberg News report that he intimidated and harshly criticized his employees on production sets, and has even threatened to fire them.
The report also stated that close to twenty Unwell Network employees have quit their jobs, and one of the staff members became overwhelmed and began crying after Kaplan threatened that they would not be able to work in Hollywood ever again.

The prominent podcaster and businesswoman, Alex Cooper, as she attended YouTube’s Brandcast event on May 13, took the opportunity to explain and discuss how her company, The Unwell Network, plays a role on the platform. Cooper said:
“Legacy media spent decades deciding who we should watch. Their problem is this generation stopped asking for permission. “
She said:
“Networks didn’t lose this audience — they never had them. And she doesn’t just watch. She shows up. Not because of an algorithm, it’s her choice. Her loyalty is not bought, it is earned.”
