NFL quarterback Geno Smith is facing domestic violence allegations from his ex-girlfriend, Kristen Stubbs, aka @everythingkrisxo on Instagram. She uploaded a video of the New York Jets star on her Stories and claimed:
“Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my a** cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s*x online and play Call of Duty.”
The 35-year-old athlete’s only child, Seven Santana Smith, will turn 7 this July. In the now-viral video, Geno could be seen entering his house from the garage while Kristen was screaming from behind the camera:
“Geno just beat my a**, that’s why. I came in there. I put Seven down and I left. You ran outside and attacked me, b*tch… You broke my f**king laptop… f**k you!”
Geno Smith, whose real name is Eugene Cyril Smith III, has weathered multiple controversies in the past. These include a DUI arrest, a cheating scandal, a flight drama, and abusing his own Jets teammates after a defeat.
In the recent clip, Smith was heard telling someone over the phone, “She just called the police.” In a follow-up Story, Kristen recorded and posted a clip of Geno talking to local police officers. However, according to Heavy.com, no confirmed reports have validated the woman’s allegations.
Additionally, no police complaint, arrest record, criminal charges, or official statements have been issued. The QB has yet to respond.
All you need to know about Geno Smith’s past controversies
In January 2014, Geno Smith became the center of a s*x/ cheating scandal when Atlanta-based medical professional Jackie Presley accused him of having relations with her and other women, despite having a girlfriend. Jackie wrote a detailed letter to Baller Alert asking them to expose Geno’s lifestyle on their blog.
“My Instagram/Twitter name is @1jackiepresley. I am currently involved with NY NFL quarterback Geno Smith. I want you guys to tell my story on your blog. I recently found out that he has a girlfriend & he has been flying me out to cities to see him & never told me. I don’t want to be anonymous. He is an a**hole. He meets women off the Internet & tells them to come to whatever city he is in or to his house & he has a d*mn girlfriend. Smh,” Presley began her letter to Baller Alert.
She claimed that in late 2013, Smith began following her on Instagram and she followed him back after learning who he was. He reportedly asked for her contact details and soon they were “talking via FaceTime” for over two weeks before he invited her over for one of his games in Charlotte, NC.
On their first meeting, Jackie claimed to have slept with Geno at the Marriott Hotel. Subsequently, they kept in touch and he flew her down to NYC for Christmas. She continued to claim:
“All this talking & texting, he NEVER mentioned a girlfriend. I went to his house on Christmas Day, we had s*x & I spent the night. I finally found out he had a girlfriend after snooping around on his close friend’s page. And he didn’t officially tell me he had a girlfriend until we fell out recently. So, he is an a**hole, who has a girlfriend but literally BLOWING me up to come see him. And we had unprotected s*x. Smh, but he never mentioned a girlfriend, not once!”
Presley ended her letter calling athletes like Geno Smith “disgusting & cheaters.” However, she took responsibility for not knowing better and claimed the QB deleted his IG page because of her and “even offered to pay me not to talk.” However, she wanted to expose his alleged behavior rather than take his money.
At the time, Madamenoire reported Geno Smith was dating his high school sweetheart, Kristen Stubbs, who was also his personal assistant. They attended Miramar High School together in Miramar, Florida. Today, Stubbs is an event planner and designer who runs her own company, Concepts by Kris.
Besides the letter, Jackie Presley posted an alleged p*nis picture of Geno Smith on social media and also released screenshots of their alleged text exchanges.
The same month of his s*x/ cheating scandal, the Los Angeles Raiders star made headlines after getting escorted off a Virgin America flight at LAX for declining to put down his phone during take-off.
Later, in September 2014, after fans booed Geno Smith and the NY Jets for losing to the Detroit Lions, he told off his teammates on camera saying “F**k You!” He was fined $12,000 and later apologized by saying he let his temper get the “best of me in that situation.”
The following month, he and his teammates missed an important team meeting because of a movie night, despite losing the previous game to the Chargers by 31-0. They were reprimanded for the same, but blamed the time zones for the confusion.
After a difficult 2014-2015 season with the Jets, Geno Smith said in a press conference, “We did a good job, overall,” which got him into hot water with fans who accused him of being in denial.
In August 2015, Geno Smith got into a dispute with reserve Jets linebacker IK Enemkpali, who “sucker punched” him and left him with a broken jaw. While Jets coach Todd Bowles downplayed it as “childish,” it left Smith off the field for 6 to 10 weeks.
In January 2022, Smith was taken into custody in Washington for DUI and reckless driving after he refused a breathalyser test and resisted arrest. However, the charges were dropped after a year by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. At the time, he was playing for the Seattle Seahawks.
Earlier this year, in March, the Los Angeles Raiders traded Geno Smith to the New York Jets. In this regard, he told NFL Network recently:
“Complete full circle moment back to where it all began. I’m excited to connect with my new teammates and coaches and everyone in the building, as well as build a new relationship with the fan base and community.”
Raiders’ ex-coach, who got fired after the last season, called him “phenomenal” and took responsibility for his failure to make a better impact.
Geno Smith’s only child, Seven Santana Smith, was born in July 2019. He announced the birth via a tweet at the time, calling it the “greatest day of my life.” The son was named after his jersey number. The identity of his son’s mother remains a mystery. Meanwhile, Geno has been married to his college sweetheart, Haley Eastham, since 2015.
