On the Thursday, June 11, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Stephanie shared good news, Victor played chess, Phyllis got an offer, and Nikki showed up for Nick.
Stephanie’s new beginning

Stephanie strolled through Chancellor Park and spotted Nate, and he was hopeful that she was still considering taking the job at the hospital. However, there was nothing more to consider since she had already accepted the offer. This was not only a major step for her career, but it would also keep her closer to Holden, who has gone through quite the whirlwind as of late.
Similar to Audra, Stephanie asked Nate if he’d considered returning to medicine, but his answer wasn’t what she wanted to hear. He loved that world, and it was one of the most significant periods of his life. However, he was content working with Devon and Lily, and he wasn’t willing to jeopardize that at this time.
Billy sounds the alarm

Lily asked Billy to meet with her at the GCAC, and he was still reeling from the news about Jack being caught in a tornado in Maryland. They were positive that everyone would make it out of the disaster unscathed, so they moved on to business.
Lily asked Billy to keep an open mind about Chancellor and it being handed over to her. Considering how deeply obsessed Billy was with Chancellor, there was a chance this could be a significant blow to his mental health. Billy was thrilled for Lily, even if it stung a little.
Lily wasn’t going to fold the company into Chancellor Winters, just to avoid any issues that happened with the previous merger. However, she wasn’t going to leave her position to run the day-to-day operations of the company. Instead, Cane would be running Chancellor as CEO. After everything Cane had done, this was undeniably not the name that Billy ever expected to hear.
Billy took the news as an attack on his character. Why would Lily trust Cane to run Chancellor after all he’d done to hurt everyone’s lives in Genoa City? Billy was convinced that Cane only saved Malcolm to get back in her good graces, and he was certain that she’d regret giving him the keys to the kingdom.
Cane and Katherine were close, and she wanted him to run the company after she passed away. At the very least, Billy wanted Lily to run it for herself instead of allowing her ex-husband to have unbridled power. He believed she was allowing her feelings toward Cane to cloud her judgment, and she admitted that it was true to an extent.
She wanted to return the favor for saving Malcolm’s life, but beyond that, this was more about Cane returning to the man that he used to be. To be fair, they were both allowing their personal feelings to get in the way of this. Neither could be objective when it came to Cane or Chancellor.
Victor’s surprise offer

Phyllis paced up her office since she handed the company over to Victor. She was angry with herself for giving everything up since she had done the right thing. Being selfless for once didn’t get her anything besides unemployment and isolation from her family and friends.
Victor showed up while she was cleaning everything out, and he offered her a deal, but she felt like it was another one of his mind games. The charges were dropped against her, so she was at least avoiding jail time. Phyllis referred to it as her company, which set Victor off and distracted from what he was actually there for.
Despite everything that Phyllis had done to Victor, she outplayed and outmaneuvered him. She only had Newman for a brief period of time, but he was there to offer her a new future instead. She had one of the biggest moments of her career being teased and dangled in front of her, and all she had to do was bite.
Victor was confident that Phyllis could transform Arabesque into a viable company. This was her reward for saving Nick’s life and proving herself amongst the elite of Genoa City. The ball was firmly in her court, but Phyllis was reluctant to believe him at face value.
She asked why he’d give it to her, especially since she’d been successfully neutralized. However, it was quite simple. She saved Nick’s life. She brought him back from the dead, and he was serious about never forgetting what she did. Business drama aside, she did something that no amount of money could ever repay.
Later, Phyllis met with Lauren at Society, and she told her about the offer from Victor to run Arabesque. Lauren thought there was an ulterior motive for Victor to hand her this company. This could be just the latest part of the grudge against her and Cane. Regardless of everything, Lauren was all in because working alongside her best friend was worth the risk.
Matt’s new mission

At the ranch, Matt told Victor he was ready to take out Cane Ashby, but Victor wasn’t ready for it yet. Adam and Chelsea arrived and were caught off guard by Matt standing in the living room. Nick, Sharon, and Noah showed up right after, and they were also displeased to see him there.
Everyone seemed to believe his change was genuine, but it was all unsettling. Victor asked his family to allow Matt to walk around Genoa City as if he was truly changed, and they couldn’t tell anyone what he’d truly done. Phyllis was the next to arrive, and she wanted to ensure he wasn’t after her in some way.
Victor thought this was also key to fixing things with Summer. He told her about his plan for Matt, and he wanted her to go along with it as well. She knew the history behind who he really was, but he implored her to keep quiet so she didn’t interfere with his grand mission.
Nick takes the first step

At Crimson Lights, Nikki, Nick, Noah, and Sharon celebrated the astounding success of The Shadow Room’s opening night. Despite a tornado potentially hurting some of their loved ones, everyone seemed in good spirits. Nick pulled his mother outside onto the patio for a private conversation, something the rest of the family couldn’t hear.
Nick was struggling and wanted to attend a meeting, but he wasn’t sure how he felt about sharing his story. This was the most vulnerable Nick had been, and all he wanted was his mother to come with him. No matter how old you are and what you’re going through, sometimes you just need your mother.
Nikki was no stranger to going to meetings and sharing her story, and she was happy to help her son through his first time. It wasn’t going to magically change things by telling everyone about his addiction, but it was a significant first step. Nikki agreed to go with him because this was going to be the best way to keep him comfortable.
Nick was emotional when sitting down for his first meeting, but Nikki remained by his side to assist him through the ups and downs. After getting some reassurance from his mother that it was a safe space to share his story, he was ready to talk for the first time at a meeting. Nick wanted to be the hero for everyone, but this was the first time in his life that he was the one who felt like a villain.
Nick didn’t think he was the “usual” type of addict, but he realized at the meeting that this could happen to anyone. He wasn’t special. There was no singular type. He was struggling with the disappointment that he caused his family, and their reactions led him to never want to feel like that again.
