In a notice posted on their website, the FSA said: “Illva Saronno S.p.A is recalling Disaronno Originale because of the possible presence of small pieces of glass within some bottles of product, which could make it unsafe to drink.”

Seven batches have been identified that could potentially include contaminated bottles.

The batch codes affected are 25374, 25375, 25381, 25382, 25435, 25442 and 25444.

They added that point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product which explain why the product is being recalled and what to do if they bought it.

The FSA advised consumers to “not consume” the product and instead return it to the store for a refund or replacement.
