AN ELDERLY man has been found dead near a popular waterfront in a UK seaside town.
Emergency services raced to Cleveleys Promenade in Lancashire on Saturday morning.
Lancashire Police received a call from North West Ambulance service at around 9.47am to reports a man in his 70s had been found “unresponsive”.
Images showed a large emergency service presence at Cleveleys Plaza.
The man was rushed to hospital but was tragically pronounced dead despite the best efforts of medical staff.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called by the North-West Ambulance Service at 9.47am on 3rd January to Rough Lea Road, Cleveleys, to a report a man had been found unresponsive.
“The man, aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital where despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he was very sadly pronounced deceased.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this distressing time.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be passed in due course to HM Coroner.”
