Managing an island full of unpredictable Mii characters is supposed to be the chaotic part of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Getting stuck there unexpectedly because of a glitch is a different story entirely. Nintendo dropped update 1.0.3 on June 25, 2026, patching eight specific problems that had been quietly disrupting players’ island lives, from money that refused to display correctly to a camera with a serious personal space problem.
What this patch actually fixes
The update addresses eight named issues along with a collection of general stability improvements that Nintendo described as additional fixes to improve the overall gameplay experience. Here is what changed:
- A bug that blocked game progression when players tried to visit a Mii from the Mii List at the exact moment that character stepped onto or off the Ferris wheel has been resolved.
- A rare issue that caused the player’s money amount to display incorrectly after receiving funds, which then prevented further game progression, has been corrected.
- A rare crash triggered by raising a Mii character’s satisfaction level repeatedly, which forced the game to close without warning, will no longer occur.
- The counter tracking how many days have passed since two Mii characters became sweethearts or got married was showing incorrect figures in some instances and has now been fixed.
- An overly eager camera that zoomed in far too closely during head rub interactions has been pulled back to a more comfortable distance.
- Certain objects that occasionally failed to appear correctly during Mii News segments or inside the Photo Studio will now render as intended.
- A recognition failure that prevented the game from acknowledging a completed outfit even when a Mii owned every required clothing item has been corrected.
- Lingo taught to Mii characters was sometimes being cut short when spoken aloud rather than delivered in full. That issue has been resolved.
The change coming to local play
Beyond the bug fixes, Nintendo made one adjustment to local play. Mii characters and other player-created content can no longer be transferred during local play sessions if the island name or player name contains numbers or text that falls under display restrictions. The move appears aimed at preventing display or content conflicts that certain naming conventions could cause during transfers between players.
Why some of these fixes matter more than others
A few of the issues addressed in this patch carried real consequences. Both the money display bug and the Ferris wheel timing glitch were capable of stopping a player’s progress completely, which in a game built around ongoing interaction with island residents is a genuinely frustrating outcome. The outfit recognition fix also deserves attention. Building out each Mii’s wardrobe is a core part of the experience, and having a completed outfit go unacknowledged by the game was quietly undermining that effort in a way that felt more like sabotage than oversight.
