The Young and the Restless character Sienna Bacall is celebrating her freedom from Matt Clark. Off-screen, Tamara Braun, who plays Sienna, is also celebrating as it’s her birthday!

Braun, born on April 18 in Evanston, Illinois, did the impossible when she hit the daytime scene in 2001. Cast as Carly Benson Corinthos on General Hospital, Braun had the daunting task of replacing fan favorite Sarah Brown. In no short time, Braun won over audiences with her portrayal of the complex character, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series along the way.
She remained on the show until 2005, but she wasn’t done with the daytime genre by any means. Braun joined the cast of Days of our Lives as volatile Ava Vitale in 2008. The following year, Braun won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2009.
After Ava’s first exit from Salem, Braun moved 3000 miles across the country from Los Angeles to New York City, where she took on the role of Reese on All My Children. Reese and Bianca (Eden Riegel), the daughter of Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), made daytime history when the characters were the first same-sex couple to get legally married.
After Braun exited Pine Valley, she returned to Salem to play Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) sister, Taylor Walker. She scored a hat trick with DAYS by reprising Ava Vitale.
She has reprised Ava a few times, and in between Salem stints, Braun returned to GH as Dr. Kim Nero, the single mother of Oscar (Garren Stitt), who died after being diagnosed with a tumor.

Braun won her second Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for playing Kim in 2020. Braun delivered a series of heartfelt performances as Kim as Oscar’s condition deteriorated.
In 2024, Braun joined the cast of Y&R as Sienna Bacall, a woman who was unaware that her husband, Mitch, was, in reality, Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), the longtime nemesis of Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Moving to Genoa City reunited her with her DAYS TV son, Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp), who plays Noah Newman, Sienna’s love interest on Y&R! Braun told Soap Central last year that Sienna wasn’t looking for another romance after she realized that her relationship with “Mitch” wasn’t viable. “The heart goes where it goes,” Braun said.
A devoted animal advocate, Braun often posts on social media about her support for our four-legged friends. The caring star has also lent her time and support to the Tanzanian Children’s Fund. “You have such a big heart! Love you!” posted Cynthia Preston (ex-Faith, GH).
