Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard is a 2023 Lifetime crime drama that is now available to stream on Netflix in the U.S. It is based on the shocking murder of Heidi Broussard in 2019.
On December 12, 2019, Heidi went missing along with her newborn daughter. She was last seen dropping her elder child off at school. After a week of intense investigation, her body was found in her friend Magen’s car.
Magen lied to Heidi and drove from Houston to Austin with evil intent. She faked her pregnancy and planned to steal Heidi’s child. She strangled Heidi to death. The authorities found Heidi’s newborn at Magen’s home and returned the baby to Heidi’s family.
As per CBS News, in 2023, Magen Fieramusca pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to 55 years in prison; she waived her right to appeal as well.

Emily Osment (Young Sheldon, Family Guy, and Hannah Montana) plays Magen Fieramusca in Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard. Magen and Heidi were longtime friends who met during a church camp.
However, their friendship took an ugly turn when Magen found out that Heidi was pregnant. Magen faked her pregnancy and planned to steal Heidi’s newborn and pass it off as her own. She strangled Heidi to death and kept her body in her car trunk.
After a week-long search, the cops were able to find Heidi’s body in the car trunk. Magen eventually confessed to her crimes and was sentenced to 55 years in prison. She will be eligible for parole only after serving half her prison time.
Anna Hopkins as Heidi Broussard
Anna Hopkins (The Expanse, Barney’s Version, and A Christmas Cookbook) plays Heidi Broussard in Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard. Heidi, a mother and a sweet church-going Austin woman, was murdered in 2019 by her childhood friend, Magen.
Turns out, when Magen found out that Heidi was pregnant, she turned jealous. She lied to Heidi about being pregnant and drove to Austin after Heidi gave birth to a daughter. Magen kidnapped Heidi and her newborn. She then strangled Heidi to death and his her body in the car trunk until the authorities found out. Magen kept Heidi’s newborn at her house.
Ian Lake as Cody
Ian Lake ( Star Trek: Discovery, Sheriff Country, and Macbeth) plays Cody, Heidi’s partner and the missing newborn’s father. After Heidi and their newborn daughter go missing, Cody gets entangled in a police investigation.
