Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison premiered with three episodes on Paramount+ while the remaining three will drop on March 21, 2026.
The show features talents like Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, and Beau Garrett, to name a few. Among them is Kevin Zegers, who plays Cade, a local Montana rancher in The Madison. Turns out, Zegers didn’t get the role easily; he had to fight for it. Zegers might have been desperate for his role in The Madison, but he has surely made a clear impact with his limited appearance in the first three episodes
In a candid interview with Page Six during the show’s premiere, Kevin Zegers shared how he sort of fought to get Case’s role in The Madison. He noted:
“I just did. I mean it was not easy. Maybe I want totally right for it, but I just wouldn’t (give up). I just knew I was supposed to be doing this.
He jokingly continued,
“I was willing to fly to Taylor’s house and bang on his door.”

Who does Kevin Zegers play in The Madison?
The Madison on Paramount+ delves into the lives of the wealthy New York family, the Clyburns. It consists of the loving couple Preston and Stacy and their daughters Paige and Abigail. Kevin Zegers plays the role of Cade Harris, a local rancher who helps Stacy and her daughters in Montana as they try to overcome the grief after a tragic loss. Here’s more about it.
Preston loved spending his vacation on his property in Montana. In the first episode, he goes fishing with his brother Paul. He hires a charter plane to reach an isolated part of the river. Unfortunately, the plane crashes in the mountains, and the brothers die.
When the tragic news reaches Stacy, she breaks down, and the Clyburns travel to Montana to complete Preston’s last rites. Stacy never really enjoyed visiting Montana; she often complained about the place. But for Preston, it was no less than a dream. After going through Preston’s journal, she learnt how he longed to live in Montana, and he even named a valley after her. When Stacy’s granddaughters, Bridgett and Macy, enter the barn, they encounter Kevin Zeger’s Cade for the first time.
Cade is Preston and Paul’s friendly neighbour who was previously instructed by Paul to look after his farm in his absence. He tries to talk to Stacy, and without forcing her to talk about her grief, he shares his. He reveals how he lost his father to s**cide. Cade offers food to Stacy and her family. Cade also helps treat Russell’s hornet bites with some baking soda. Macy, however, has a tiff with him, calling his tacos, ‘Indian.’ Later, Stacy apologizes for her granddaughter’s behaviour. Cade gives Stacy the contact details of a local funeral home and she thanks Cade for his help.
Zeger, in an interview with Country Living, revealed what helped him prepare for this emotional sequence in The Madison with Stacy. He said,
“When I got this job, my friend Chris had killed himself a year before, and it was very fresh. When I read that scene, especially, there was this idea of wanting to communicate. I really felt compelled to want to do that scene well, and in a way that felt honest to me.”
