The FIFA World Cup 2026 is kicking off with a lineup packed with global stars

The FIFA World Cup 2026 fever started just a few hours ago, and soccer fans from across the world are currently preparing themselves with their favorite jerseys and popcorn to watch the upcoming matches. The performances of different global artists at this year’s World Cup aired just a few hours ago on platforms like Fox Sports, Peacock, Bell Media, and ZEE5. This major tournament is jointly hosted by three nations: the US, Canada, and Mexico.

The opening performance by Shakira and Burna Boy was held at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico. The celebration started on June 11, and the next day, the matches will move to Toronto and Los Angeles.

The three colorful ceremonies take place before the Group A matches. Mexico’s grand opening event comes first, right before the tournament’s first clash between South Africa and Mexico. On June 12, Toronto will host the Group B match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Los Angeles will stage the live US celebration ahead of America’s opening match against Paraguay.

Shakira and Burna Boy kick off FIFA World Cup 2026 with Dai Dai

Burna Boy and Shakira kick off this year’s FIFA World Cup celebrations. The two stars recently released the official FIFA World Cup 2026 theme song, Dai Dai. Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Los Ángeles Azules, Lila Downs, Ryan Castro, Tyla, and Maná join the two artists. Fernández sang Mexico’s national anthem before the opening match, while Tyla performed South Africa’s national anthem.

Mexican-American actress and producer Salma Hayek was chosen as this year’s World Cup brand ambassador. She warmly welcomed soccer fans to the first match before kickoff. According to FIFA’s official announcement, Ryan Castro joined J Balvin on stage for a special live performance.


FIFA World Cup 2026: Katy Perry joins Lisa, Rema, and more

Soccer fans are witnessing one of the grandest opening celebrations in FIFA World Cup history at this year’s ceremony. Katy Perry will join famous performers like Lisa, Rema, Anitta, and Future on stage before the Men’s National Team plays its first match. The country duo Dan + Shay will then proudly sing their version of the American national anthem, while the Paraguayan folk-pop band Purahei Soul will perform Paraguay’s national anthem.

Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis will appear as the FIFA World Cup 2026 brand ambassador to warmly welcome fans in Los Angeles.
