The countdown to The Boys finale has started, and as expected, speculations and leaks are all over the place as fans anticipate the events of an explosive finale. As it braces up to hit select 4DX theatres on May 19 before it’s Prime Video premiere, spoiler culture has already done what it does best: get there first
A user on X going by SukunaFN posted the score track titles of the seventh ad eights episode ahead of the official relese, and the fandom has exploded into a predictable spiral of speculation and excitement.
For The Boys finale itself, the listed tracks include:
- Blood and Bone (1:45)
- The Wreckage (1:46)
- To the Tower (0:59)
- Canary in the Coal Mine (1:30)
- Goodbye (1:52)
- Last Diabolical Dance (1:47)
The published album includes tracks like Kessler, A True Mark of Family, The Speech (Full Version), Blood and Bone, The Wreckage, and others matching the leak closely. It’s believable, of course, but given all the leaks going around, we should remember it’s a leak and not an official announcement.
What makes these titles sting just a little more than your average spoiler is how loaded they sound. Goodbye. Last Diabolical Dance. The Wreckage, this gives away some hints about what may happen in The Boys finale. Score composers name their cues after what’s happening on screen so just reading these titles is essentially reading chapter headings from the ending of a book you haven’t finished. Canary in the Coal Mine suggests something dire is coming before the final blow lands.
SukunaFN, for their part, has claimed on X to have known major themes and details about Season 5 since last year, and also alleged to have watched seven episodes in total, which would explain why their track titles proved accurate when the album dropped. Whether that’s true or not, the account has built a reputation in The Boys fandom as a reliable leak source this season, and this latest post only adds to that.
More details about the The Boys finale’s soundtrack
Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen composed the score for all five seasons of the original show as well as its spin-off, Gen V, with Michelle Johnson serving as music supervisor for the final run. To mark the occasion, Mutant Records, in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and Prime Video, announced a three-disc vinyl collection called The Best of The Boys, celebrating the show’s full musical run.
The leak timing is particularly annoying for anyone trying to go in clean to the theatrical event. Fans watching on the big screen can do so starting at 9:30pm local time on May 19, while Prime Video streams the finale beginning at midnight PT/3am ET. Which means Reddit and X will be filled with leaks, spoilers and a lot of information, before anyone even hs the chance to tune in.
The Boys finale will drop on May 20.
