Tales From ’85 return for Season 2? Renewal confirmed

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is the spin-off of Stranger Things, which takes place between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original, and is canon to it as well. The only difference is that it features a new addition to the Hawkins crew: Nikki Baxter, whom we haven’t seen in the original shows.

The show had limitations with the story since it could not connect too much with the main show’s timeline, given that Stranger Things ended in 2025. Not only has Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 managed to tell a fantastic story, but it has also been renewed for Season 2.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 has been confirmed

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 has been confirmed by Netflix. Story details are yet to be revealed, and all we know is that a new threat will emerge from Hawkin’s silver mines, which were abandoned long ago. Speaking about Season 2, the developer and executive producer of the show, Eric Robles, said to Tudum by Netflix,

“Working on Season 1 has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Now that it’s out in the world, seeing fans connect with these characters—whether they’ve loved them for years or are just meeting them for the first time—has been truly special. I’m excited to continue the journey.”

He continued,

“We’re thrilled to return to the winter of ’85 for Season 2. The Hawkins Investigators Club is back, and a new paranormal threat has emerged from the town’s abandoned silver mines. I can’t wait for fans to discover where this entity and the mysterious blue flower we last saw blooming in the Upside Down at the end of Season 1 take our young heroes.”

It is too early to say if there are going to be new cast additions. But as Robles said, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 will be set in winter as well, and we might again see the monsters of the Upside Down at their most powerful form, as we did in Season 1.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, aka Jane Hopper, Luca Diaz as Mike Wheeler, Braxton Quinney as Dustin Henderson, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max Mayfield, Elisha Williams as Lucas Sinclair, Ben Plessala as Will Byers, Odessa A’zion as Nikki Baxter, Brett Gipson as Jim Hopper, Janeane Garofalo as Anna Baxter, Jeremy Jordan as Steve Harrington, Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel Fischer, Robert Englund as Cosmo, Alysia Reiner as Karen Wheeler, Jim Titus as Officer Powell, Miriam Flynn as Flo, Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler, Jordan Reynolds as Officer Callahan, Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario, and Jack Griffo as Jeff.

The show is developed by Eric Robles and Jennifer Muro. Robles also serves as the showrunner. Executive producers of the show include Robles, The Duffer Brothers, Dan Cohen, Shawn Levy, and Hilary Leavitt. The production companies behind the show are Upside Down Pictures, 21 Laps Entertainment, and Flying Bark Productions.

A release window for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 is yet to be confirmed. Season 1 of the show, along with Stranger Things, is streaming on Netflix.
