Super Spy Josslyn Saves Jason and Valentin From Her Hospital Bed

The July 3 episode of General Hospital saw Port Charles begin picking up the pieces after the chaos on Spoon Island. While Rocco struggled to accept Britt’s arrest and Lulu grappled with the truth about Cassius, the biggest power play came from Josslyn, who used her leverage with the WSB to fight for Jason and Valentin’s freedom.

Dante, Lulu, and Rocco returned home, and Dante believed that with Cullum dead, he no longer posed a threat to his son’s safety. Rocco was upset that the news article discussing Cullum’s death failed to highlight all of his nefarious crimes. Aside from that, Rocco’s biggest concern was locating Britt, the answer to which was provided by his father, even if it was the last thing he wished to hear.

Dante explained that Britt was in Port Charles in police custody. Rocco felt betrayed and wondered why Dante was insistent on punishing her for things that occurred a lifetime ago when he was a baby. However, Dante tried to make it clear that he didn’t have Britt arrested as a means of retaliation. Instead, it was meant as a way to save her life.

Dante and Lulu wanted to protect Britt from Cullum’s wrath, and although they had the best intentions, the WSB wasn’t finished with her yet. They were trying to meet Rocco in the middle when it came to Britt, but he wasn’t having it. If anything were to happen to Britt legally, he may never forgive them.

Lulu screamed at Rocco because of his desire to blame them for everything, but he stormed out of the room. After Rocco went upstairs, Dante dropped the bombshell on Lulu about Nathan being Cassius Faison.

Lulu herself was a prime example of how Cassius was nothing like Nathan. He never would’ve gotten involved with her and betrayed Maxie like that. His pursuit of her should’ve been her biggest red flag. Before Rocco took off to visit Britt, he took the time to speak with his mother. She was in a depressed, hollow state after realizing that she was violated by Cassius and essentially sexually assaulted.

Vaughn Pressures Britt

Vaughn made his return and approached Britt, who was sitting inside a jail cell. He reminded her that she should’ve cooperated with the WSB in the past, and now he was waiting for her to do it again. Britt wasn’t interested in speaking with Vaughn, but she needed to do so if she wanted to secure her freedom.

Vaughn revealed that Sidwell was in jail for attempted murder, and Cullum was deceased. She was finally free of their manipulations and mind games, so perhaps listening to Vaughn was worth more than she realized. After he left, Liesl showed up at the PCPD to speak with Britt and get some answers to lingering questions.

Liesl demanded to know why she was kept in the dark about Cassius. She was led to believe that Nathan had risen from the dead, but instead his presumed-dead twin brother stepped into his place. Britt defended her actions because her intentions were pure and she wanted to protect her mother.

Charlotte and Danny Go Off Script

Molly served as Danny and Charlotte’s attorney, and she planned to help the kids in their discussion with the WSB. Danny was a bit nervous because of how he previously broke into the WSB offices, but Molly assured him that it would be fine. However, although the WSB was willing to speak with them, that didn’t mean they’d provide any information about Jason or Valentin.

Molly warned the kids ahead of time that their previous actions could impact their futures. Crimes were committed, and although they had the best intentions, she didn’t want them to risk ruining their lives. Charlotte immediately went off script in the interview with Vaughn, threatening her freedom in the process.

Danny made things even worse by revealing that he knew Jason didn’t attempt to kill Cullum. The entire thing was a master class in deception, and looking back, there were clearly signs. In hindsight, the man parading around as Nathan West was shadier and colder than they remembered.

Later, Danny confronted Rocco about everything he knew. Instead of coming forward with the what he knew, he fled town and allowed Jason to rot in a Jakarta cell. Danny was well aware that Rocco fired the bullet into Cullum’s back, nearly costing him his life, which led to Jason going to prison.

Carly Fights for Josslyn

Carly was adamant that she be let into Josslyn’s hospital room since she was out of surgery. However, the agent guarding her door had strict orders to keep everyone out. Carly tried to argue with the agent, but Lucas prevented her from doing so. Josslyn was expected to make a full recovery, so that was better than the complete lack of information she had previously.

Carly was hopeful that this would become the end of Josslyn’s time in the WSB. She didn’t want her daughter to become a broken shell of her former self, similar to Anna and Valentin. It felt inevitable.

Josslyn Makes a Deal

Josslyn awoke to Z standing over her hospital bed. The head of the WSB was the first person she saw, and Z assured her that her mother and Liesl survived and were rescued. Her first question, aside from them, was whether Cassius survived being shot by Cullum. After everything that happened between them, she was still hopeful that he overcame the odds.

Unfortunately, Cassius succumbed to his injuries, but similar to Nathan, he died a hero. However, as the only survivor of the gunfight on Spoon Island, Z needed her full account of the ordeal so he could decide how to best proceed. Her memory was sharper in this moment than it was ever going to be, so putting it off couldn’t remain an option.

Josslyn explained that Cullum had Anna imprisoned, forced Britt and Cassius to comply with his orders, and reiterated that Liesl was forced to complete the prototype. Along with the kidnappings, Cullum was also responsible for Marco’s brutal murder. At this point, Z knew everything that she knew.

Z filled in the biggest gap in Josslyn’s story, confirming that Valentin visited him in Geneva to expose Cullum’s duplicitous ways. This was about to become a public relations nightmare for the WSB, which is where Josslyn factored into everything. Josslyn was the sole eyewitness to everything that occurred, and her statement was going to make or break the entire Bureau.

Josslyn was willing to publicly absolve the WSB and pin everything on Cassius, but only if she received something in return. She wanted a full release and all charges dropped against both Valentin and Jason. It was the only way she was willing to play ball.

There were no reliable witnesses who could counter her story. Liesl and Britt would be vehemently against the idea, but they wouldn’t be able to stop her. Z agreed to Josslyn’s terms and told her that she had a bright future ahead of her in the WSB.

Toward the end of the episode, someone refused to leave Z’s office until they were heard. Naturally, it was Carly, and she demanded that Josslyn be released from the WSB. It was obvious she wasn’t going anywhere until she got exactly what she came for.
