Stuart has never really had an easy time in life, and as the official trailer of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe shows us, he is about to have the most difficult time of his life. Except this time, he’s finally the main character of his life, and he’s about to have fun.
We’ve known Stuart as the awkward comics book store owner from The Big Bang Theory, but in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, he will go on a multiverse adventure to undo an apocalypse and set things right.
The new Stuart Fails to Save the Universe trailer reveals strange alternate worlds and a journey across universes
As the earlier trailers of the upcoming show had revealed, Stuart (played by Kevin Sussman) had accidentally broken a device that was made by Sheldon and Leonard. As a result of which, their universe was in an apocalypse, and they were tormented by creatures from other universes. An alternate Stuart had come and told the show’s Stuart that he’s the only one who can fix this mess and restore the actual timeline.
As the new Stuart Fails to Save the Universe trailer reveals, Stuart begins to doubt his alternate self, but since he has no other option, he sets out with Bert (played by Brian Posehn) to seize the day. On this journey, they are joined by Denise (played by Lauren Lapkus) and Kripke (played by John Ross Bowie) come across strange alternate versions of themselves and other The Big Bang Theory characters.
They will travel from one universe to another, carrying a device that can save it all, and look for a way to end the madness. In the trailer, we see them travel to the strangest universes. We see a universe covered in just snowy mountains, one where people are bald and kept in pods, one where Kripke is a dictator, and one where attack drones are hellbent on killing Stuart and his friends.
As the title states, Stuart fails to save the universe, but it looks like it was the alternate Stuart who failed. But this Stuart, along with Bert, Denise, and Kripke, will most likely be the ones who do save the universe and put things right.
The show is created and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady. Kyle Newacheck is also an executive producer. Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television are the production companies behind the show.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will premiere on HBO Max on July 23, 2026.
