Darrell Sheets reportedly died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot in the early hours of Wednesday. He was declared dead at the scene by officials when they arrived. According to the press release, his family has been informed about the same.

The case is still under investigation, with the authorities continuing to look into the case.

Sheets gained recognition for the Storage Wars, an American reality television competition that started twenty-six years ago. The show aired on the A&E network. In the reality show, Sheets was one of the main buyers and was also known as The Gambler. He also sometimes appeared with his son, Brandon, on the show. Over the years, Sheets became a fan favorite on the show for finding expensive items.

Sheets was on Storage Wars for almost twenty-three years. Because of his popularity, he also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the TV series Rachael Ray. Three years ago, he appeared on a TV series titled Toon in With Me.

After the news was confirmed, a representative of A&E also released a statement, reported by People, that read:

“We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell “The Gambler” Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

While his death is still under investigation, Rene Nezhoda uploaded a video after his death claiming that Sheets was a victim of cyberbullying.

In the video, he said:

“Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope [law enforcement] look into that guy and it’s just not a pass”

Speaking of the same, Sergeant Kyle Ridgway told Fox Digital:

“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”

In 2019, Darrell Sheets suffered a heart attack, which he publicly talked about on social media:

“Well here we go I wasn’t going to say anything, but you all have been the greatest friends and fans. I’ve been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung.”

As of now, his family has not released any statement publicly. Sheets was a father of two children, Brandon and Tiffany.
