Prime Video released the fifth episode of From Season 4 today. Fans have waited seven days to watch how episode 5 solves the mystery of ‘Lake of Tears’ shown in episode 4’s ending. The discovery of the lake by Ethan and his group unleashed a new terror and set the stage for episode 5. The new episode kicked off with a scene showing the group pulling out a tangled mass from the lake with the help of a rope and found dolls that were about the size of people.
The episode closed with Jade snapping back to reality inside the post office. His journey was shown through jungles and past incarnations that existed only in his mind. The ending showed Jade standing at the edge of revelation that his entire journey through jungles and past incarnations was a hallucination triggered by the mushrooms.

From Season 4 Episode 5 recap: The scarecrow doll attacks the cabin
Viewers witnessed Tabitha recall her past memory about her father, who once threw her childhood dolls into the lake because they haunted his dreams. She realized that they were not safe in the cabin. She instructs Donna and the group to leave the place. Out of the blue, a giant scarecrow doll bursts violently through the walls of the cabin and starts attacking Roger. The character of Roger was played by Eugene Sampang. The doll put its hand inside his mouth and ripped his jaws apart, and blood splattered all over the place.
The group escaped into the forest and took everyone’s position to hide. One by one, the dolls were attacking and killing everyone. As soon as it grasped Donna’s neck, Tabitha came with the scarecrow stick that she saw in her memory and pierced it into its body. The doll fell to the ground and died.
From Season 4 Episode 5 ending explained: Jade’s hallucination collapses
Episode 5 ended with Jade collapsing back into the post office. Everything he saw, such as spiders, ghosts of his past incarnations, and the grave with seven stones, was due to the mushroom effect. The hallucination scene felt real and horrific when the crowd came towards Jade with smiles on their faces. The crowd catches him and throws him into a grave. Jade shouts.
“Get the fu*k off me!”
Slowly, the crowd closes the grave with a big stone. He wakes up in his real world inside the post office. He started saying:
“What the fu*k are we doing here? How did we get here?”
Boyd replied that he never left the room and has been sitting here for hours. But he couldn’t believe his present moment and continued to say that they were in the tunnels. Boyd starts to explain that he was at the window and sits down in the chair.
The episode ends with a big question mark: Where are the children? Jade said that he knows where the children are and he can save them.
