Euphoria Season 3 might actually not be the last time we’re seeing the students of East Highland High School, and Sam Levinson is subtly teasing that there may be more to the story. The show’s creator sat down with the New York Times and spoke about how he always writes seasons like it’s the last one, but for season 4, he’s not closing any doors. Speaking to the outlet he stated,
“I write every season like it’s the last. If inspiration strikes and I have an idea, then I’ll talk to HBO. If it makes sense, it makes sense. But it’s such a long shoot, and we put so much into it, from every department — costumes, production design, editorial, cinematography. We just want to get this season right. So if this is it, great. If there’s more …”
When asked if he has season 4 in store, he answered ambiguously,
“I don’t know. I mean, I’m not … As of right now, all I want to do is hang out with my wife and kids and read some Elmore Leonard and watch Mrs. Miniver again.”
Levinson’s comments contradict Zendaya’s statements recently about whether the show is ending as she talked about during the Drew Barrymore show and said,
“I think so, yeah. Yes, I think so. That closure is coming.”
Season 3 drops on HBO Max on April 12, and it’s probably the last time we’re seeing Rue, from what we can gather from Zendaya’s comments. The show has been a cultural moment, with both incredible and mest moments. For now, fans will have to see what the third season has in store, to determine whether there are more stories to be told.
More details about Euphoria Season 3
Fans have waited for four years for Euphoria’s new season since season 2 ended. There were Hollywood strikes, and Angus Cloud’s devastating passing, and scheduling chaos with the cast, with some leaving. The time jump is hugeas season 3 jumps five years forward, so Rue and everyone else are out of high school. Most of the cast is back, except for Cloud and Barbie Ferreira and new additions include Grammy winner Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Eli Roth, Madison Thompson, Jack Topalian, Sam Trammell, Toby Wallace; and Matthew Willig among others.
Euphoria Season 3 will premiere on April 12, 2026.
